Hi herojack41,

Ya but has better coverage area compare to those normal one within budget.

If you are not concerning the coverage area then you can have a look on RT-N15U, RT-N14U, and RT-N12U.

Thank you

Hi ASUSMy.

I bought my very first Asus RT-N65U wireless router at LY earlier today (to replace) my stock Unifi router.

But unfortunately I can't even get it setup. I followed the "idiot proof" instructions given by the Quick Start Guide and use the set up CD provided - and this is not the first time I set a router, but no luck.

The system prompted something like "cannot detect cable"? I have tried several times by swapping the LAN cables, using 3 different notebooks but to no avail. I saw the lights on both the Asus router and notebook LAN slots when the LAN cable is connected. FYI I have even disabled my wifi during the setup process - still no luck.

Next, I tried via the http://192.168.1.1 per the instruction guide. As an alternative but can't seem to discover the Asus and yes I used 3 different notebook as well and still fruitless.

Hope you can help as i hv just given up after 3 hrs. Thanks in advance. Regards JP

No, the problem of disconnection does not happen on the TM router. But it is terribly slow on the TM router. I had factory reset the ASUS router RT66U but the problem still persist. I had also flashed the latest firmware but the problem still persist. I have on 20 July 2013 sent it to the service centre. I would like to suggest that your service centre in Lowyat also accepts non-laptop items as a practice. I stay in Shah Alam and it is not convenient for me to send to Plaza SPS on their normal hours from mon to friday.

Hi JPecker,

If you are using the quick setup, below is the youtube that show you hoe to setup the UNIFI.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TfEVAlxxjBY

If you are inside the router main page already, go to LAN->IPTV->Select ISP Profile-> UNIFI...

And try update the firmware to the latest. Here is the link to download the firmware.

The newest firmware version is 3.0.0.4.372.

Hi notfair,

Yes the RT-N16 is come with 2dBi antenna. We cannot confirm whether it will have problem or not if you replace with other antenna but you can try it if you want.

Hi,

I just installed Maxis Fiber in my condo. The wireless signal from Maxis provided router is extremely weak or goes up and down in 2 of the rooms.

To solve this issue, I just purchased ASUS RT-N12HP.

What is the best way of setting up the RT N12HP.

As a repeater ? As an access point ? I do have cat-5 cable lay out in all the rooms.

Appreciate any help

ThanksAttached Image

Hi mangotree,

If you have cable in all the room, then access point(AP) will be the best. You can put in on room 1 so that master room and room 2 also can get a good signal from the AP.

Thanks for your response. I will try to setup tonight.

If my wireless network from maxis router is named ABCD, my access point will have to be name differently from ABCD. Else, I may end up having conflicting wireless network in my condo. Is this correct ?

Thanks

Hi mangotree,

You can have same network name, by putting different network name then you will easily know which router you connected to.

Thank you
