Hi, I just purchased ASUS RT-N12HP. I am trying to set it up as access point or repeater due to blind spot in one of the rooms. I am using Maxis Fiber internet.
I am a newbie in setting routers..etc. What is the MAC address I need to enter ? Is it the one printed at the back of the router ? I also leave the ISP account name and password blank. I just installed Maxis and I don't see any document provided by maxis with the information. I tried following the quick setup guide. Once I reached the IP conflict screen, my entire internet access just went down. I stop the setup. Reboot Maxis/TM modem and router. After 5 mins, internet access is back up again.
Any easy guide for me to setup as an access point ? I have wired ethernet ports in all my rooms.
Appreciate any help. Thanks

Hi, I just installed Maxis Fiber in my condo. The wireless signal from Maxis provided router is extremely weak or goes up and down in 2 of the rooms. To solve this issue, I just purchased ASUS RT-N12HP. What is the best way of setting up the RT N12HP. As a repeater ? As an access point ? I do have cat-5 cable lay out in all the rooms. Appreciate any help Thanks

QUOTE(ASUSmy @ Aug 5 2013, 11:05 AM) Hi mangotree, If you have cable in all the room, then access point(AP) will be the best. You can put in on room 1 so that master room and room 2 also can get a good signal from the AP. Thank you Thanks for your response. I will try to setup tonight. If my wireless network from maxis router is named ABCD, my access point will have to be name differently from ABCD. Else, I may end up having conflicting wireless network in my condo. Is this correct ? Thanks
