Hi guys, I am trying to figure out how to do port binding of my VOIP phone to the asus rt ac87u. The router doesnt seem to let me bind VLan400 which is for my VOIP phone.

Any help?

I am using rt n12hp which one is better in channel bandwidth is it 20mhz or 40mhz?

I need suggestions on which router to buy.

I recently upgraded to Unifi 30mbps and my house is about 3,500 sqft hence i'll need a router that has extensive signal range/strength. Was initially looking at RT-56U but read a few comments that its signal strength is about 3000 sqft and will be weaker if there are obstacles (ie. doors/walls)

In RT-AC87U, you can add the VLAN ID at LAN->IPTV->Select Manual->Then put 400 at LAN Port 3 VID:400.

Some firmware are require to do a factory reset after the firmware update, in the description of the Rt-N12HP B1 latest firmware version 3.0.0.4.378.7449, it require you to do so after the update.

For Streamyx you need to look for models that starts with DSL, not RT.

DSL - For Streamyx
RT - For UniFi, Maxis Fibre, Time Fibre

You can still use the RT models with Streamyx, provided you use it together with an ADSL modem/router.

At my hometown, Streamyx 4Mbps, I actually use an RT-N12HP together with a TP-Link ADSL Router. In this case, I configure the TP-Link ADSL Router to function as BRIDGE mode, meaning the routing functions & DHCP are disabled.

Hi, which asus router for unifi should I get to cover a double story house? Any advice?

Just gotten the RT-AC87u last Saturday and install it in the living room
(room temperature, no aircond)
Fire it up and gosh this router is boiling hot. Is this normal? I wonder how long could it last constantly running under such temperature.
