We will only know that mid November.  It's actually a good thing, because there's still a lot of work to do with the firmware it seems, judging by those guys already using it on smallnetbuilder

I just bought RT-N14U for my unifi VIP10 today and can't seem to be able to configure it.

Tried many times using PPOE (specific ISP requirement - Unifi Home) and inserted my unifi and password obtained from Unifi.

Still no success.

Already checked with unifi. Password is correct. My internet status on network map states that is connected. And the phone is okay though. But no internet access?!

Hi... I am using rtn56u and I don't suffer from this kind of problem. I love this router very much, fast transfer, powerful signal.
My firmware is the latest padavan custom firmware. 3.4.3.7-071
I don't suffer any stability issue. No wifi drops etc..
Did you get a faulty set?

I will be assuming the reset you do is factory reset. If so, try set the Channel bandwidth 20/40MHz. Set a value for the Control channel.

And may I know is there by any chances that there is something around the router that interfere with the signal?

Do send the device for warranty claim if you still facing the same problem.

RT-N16 have a good review, looks like it is very reliable.

After get this new unit, 1st thing to do is to flash to latest firmware in order to connect to UNIFI?

Subject: Unifi TPLink wireless router

I have replaced a few wireless routers for my UNIFI over the years, and all are with wireless malfunctions. Wired connections are all perfect. Its the wireless issues.

1. If i use back the router (with only wireless malfunctions), is there a way i can buy another wireless device separately and connect it to the LAN of the wireless faulty router, so that i can connect wireless with the wireless device?

Because everytime when the wireless malfunctions, i just discard and replace with a whole new wireless router which is quite sayang..

Let say I install a RTN16 wireless router in ground floor.
At upper floor back room signal only 1 bar(very low).

If I connect a Lan cable from RTN16 to the back room, what device should I install in the back room to broadcast the WIFI signal?

Meaning: GroundFloor RTN16 -> Lan cable -> Upperfloor back room (Device) to broadcast wifi.

1. What device can do the job?
2. Can the device share the same SSID as the RTN16 in ground floor?
3. Or the device must have a separate SSID on its own, and that I must connect to its SSID when I m at the back room, and when i walk to ground floor, i disconnect its SSID and reconnect to the RTN16 SSID at ground floor?

Hi there, I just updated my Asus RT N53 router to the latest firmware as stated in the front page. However when trying to set up the router with unifi, the setup says i have the wrong username and password. The username and password are still the same as I had before updating.

Edit: I restored the router to factory settings and ended up with the same firmware. After inputting the username and password, the page stopped responding. I skipped the internet set up and went directly to the wifi setup and suddenly everything was working. 

Anyways, another question, why is it that i cannot detect the 5Ghz SSID even when i set it to not hide it? Been like this ever since I purchased the router.

Any help? Thank you.

My unifi wifi speed is very unstable. i wonder whether change of default  wifi router can help.
