Hi WaNaWe900,

You may need to factory reset the router and redo the setup if you are unable to log in the router through the APP or from the browser.

Thank you

WaNaWe900Just to share experience, the same happened to two of my RT-AC86U units last time. When the issue started to arise, mostly after the continuous router running duration like about a week or two, i couldn't access the router via neither apps nor web. Everything returned to normal only with the magical restart . Then the duration became shorter and shorter and finally it lost the wifi functionality too and the LEDs became very weak... and then... certified... just right after warranty ended. Normal usage though, i.e. not under high stress or temperature or lots of devices.

My AC88U's wifi gone after few months, had to RMA. My current ET12 has a faulty Ethernet port after a month, wanted to RMA but really no time and we are working from home, the whole house depends on the mesh. Quite disappointed with the quality even at such a high price.

Are you using Unifi/Maxis?

The default VLAN profile will block 1 port

Hey guys, i am looking for a new router

House type: Landed
Size of house: 22x75 (Double storey)
Features required: Antivirus, QoS, Bandwidth Limiter, VPN

Number of devices connected to WiFi: 20-30 on average + 1 LAN
- Around 12 of them being smart bulbs
- The rest are mostly phones, tv, laptops, printer
- Around 7 devices are connected to 5ghz and the rest are 2.4ghz

Internet Speed: 800mbps
Budget: preferably RM500 (may consider higher budget or get used)
ISP: TM Unifi

Current router: ASUS RT-AX55

Current concerns:
1. Unable to hit 500mbps even with LAN
2. Wifi usually around 200-300mbps
3. Poor coverage especially on second floor

4. Game high ping after the game server shifted from SG to HK, my ping went from 20-30ms to 110-170ms while my friend who is on TIME 200mbps plan, went from 20ms to 50ms with 6 devices connected. Another friend who is on the same Unfii plan as mine able to hit 50-70ms + better router with 10 connected devices. Both live in condo.

Apparently I am the only one with such poor ping. While it makes to have slower internet due to the amount of devices connected, it is my first time seeing such a huge disparity in ping. I am not sure if this is related to router limitation or related to the routing optimisation in my area.

Please advice! Also let me know if getting Wifi 7 router is a good idea for my usage and budget!

Thanks!

Hey, I'm having an issue where my internet connection drops every 2-3 days, and I have to reboot the router to get it back online. I've set it to auto-restart daily at 4 AM, thinking that would help, but the problem persists. Could my ASUS TUF AX5400 router be faulty? Thanks!

Change the IPTV profile to Unifi-Business will solve it

Upgrading it to TUF-AX4200 will solve your speed and coverage issue.

However, the ping issue got nothing to do with the router. It's due to the routing issue at the ISP. Since you are using Unifi, you got to keep trying different IP range and see which one got better routing to HK.

GT-AXE16000 have a really bad coverage is it? I can’t get a good signal on my 2 storey house. Put router at gaming area in living hall, can get signal at 2nd floor.

Which do you think better for coverage?

Ok ill look into the router. Also, may I know what does trying different IP range mean? I can probably do it by myself if you guys can point me to the guide, just to be sure of what i am looking it.

Thanks!

Oh, I have been using Unifi Business profile all these while. So likely still a hardware issue. I remember initially I could use both ports, it only stopped working after a month or so.

Basically look at what IP range you get from Unifi

e.g. 175.23.xx.xxx / 60.53.xx.xxx

Try a few different IP ranges, some might perform better for your needs

Restart your router to get a new IP

Basically we already hit the peak of coverage that's allowed by regulation

Mesh with several routers is the way to go now

Every flagship router since 2-3 years ago have the exact same coverage

Mine starts with 176.136.xx.xxx
I have restarted my router many times though, i am still getting the same result. Am I supposed to unplug instead of power off or reboot via APP/GUI?

Asus routers having problem with Unifi

Something strange happened to my Asus routers. I have been using Asus RT-AX59U for the past months without issues. Last week suddenly the internet speed dropped to minimal, can't load webpages or even do a speed test. But the router is functioning well according to the Asus router app. I am on Unifi 500Mbps. I factory reset the router, reinstalled everything, everything goes smoothly but still minimal internet speed (maybe 0.03 Mpbs).
Then I took out my old Asus RT-AC66U B1 router ( the previous router I used before the AX59U), same thing happened, well connected but minimal internet speed. Factory reset and reinstalled, still the same.
Called Unifi, they said nothing wrong on their side. Then I took out the Unifi TP-Link router and tried, Internet speed went back to normal.
So the conclusion is that both my Asus routers can connect but no speed. Unifi router has no issues.
Could someone tell me what has happened?

After the reset, I did not enable the Guest wifi for both the routers.

Hi orangubat,

May I know is does it happen on both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz?

Have you try use LAN cable to do the testing?

Have you try to change the LAN cable between the router and the modem?

Are you able to ping Google using your PC or laptop or from router?

Thank you
