Currently using RT-AC55UHP for appx 6years and I think its time to change. Will newer wifi6 routers improve signal coverage over wifi5 router?

Planning to get RT-AX86U/S during 11.11. Worth the upgrade or should I wait for the pro model?

Model with firmware dated 2022/1/7 should have this feature.

Currently having a network switch plugged into that port

1. Not sure if that would means that any device on the network switch would get priotized over other devices and would affect the speed/responisiveness of other devices(wifi/ ethernet port 2-4)

2. Will it conflict with the Adaptive QOS rules as I have Adaptive QOS setup to priotize certain traffic

1) Because the gaming port are prioritizing the gaming packet, I believe online gaming won't consume too much of bandwidth until it effect other devices.

2) Once the QoS is turn on, the gaming port will not be function as gaming port anymore, it will follow the rules set on the QoS.

What is the best/recommended and cheap Asus Wifi 6 router.

Tomorrow is 11.11, I believe there will be a lot of promotion.

The models listed in the link is with latest 388 firmware version which confirm will have this feature. In future most of the AX models will also have this 388 firmware.

You can look at other AX models, as long as the firmware is after this date 2022/1/7.

If coverage is your main concern then you can get any AiMesh supported model to add into your network. If you are concern about the coverage and performance, then I would suggest to get the same model or other tri-band model.

hi ASUSmy, Just to check with you if RT-AC68U still can form AiMesh network with RT-AC86U?

Recently I tried use AC68U to mesh with AC86U again, both are connected thru 5ghz WIFI, however no device connect to the AC68U even I manually binding.

Both running latest firmware, or any special settings needed?

You can mix them together, it just that the RT-AC86U won't have WiFi6 feature and lower bandwidth compare to XT8.

Hi ASUSmy, where can I submit a bug report for router firmware?

I'm using XD6 with the latest firmware version 3.0.0.4.388_21380 that has Wireguard VPN server support. The problem is that when Wireguard VPN server is enabled, WAN speeds drops significantly. My internet speeds that is usually 500mbps (download) will drop to about 200-300mbps. This only happens with Wireguard, I've tested with all other VPN servers and they do not affect the speeds. This effect is reproducible and can easily be demonstrated.

Have you try to factory reset the router and redo the setup before?
