Hmm, I don't have port forwarding enabled on my RT-N56U. Another issue at my end, I think.

Recently just bought RT-N66U-B1 to replace TM unifi router, after setting up as showed in website http://klseet.com/index.php/asus/asus-rt-n...t-n66u-b1-setup

My download on Bitshare is less than 100kb/s and the download will failed after 2 or 3 mins. Check on torrent download as well and it can connect to peer but download speed is less than 2kb/s

I tried to play movie from XBMC and the connection is very slow as well.

Any recommended setting guide or suggest me the most stable firmware to use. Can firmware be downgrade?
By the way, the firmware version I use is 3.0.0.4.374.2050
After flash to this version, I do reset of my router then reconfigure back.

Hi InSplre,

Do you mean the new beta firmware 3.0.0.4.374.2239?

And would you be able to provide us the full log files?

Thank you

Hi audiocool,

Try have a check on the QoS, see the speed that you put is in Mb/s or Kb/s. Or try off it to test the speed again.

Thank you

Will try it out tonight. Oh ya, just need your opinion. What is the benefit to run iPTV from BTU port rather than port from router??

At the moment the default setting for ipTV is from router's port.

Thanks.

Hi audiocool,

IPTV require Internet connection in-order for it to work, if you connect it at the BTU, i don't think it will work if there is no Internet connection.

Thank you

try to scan 1723 port from online. if your port 1723 did not have any issue, 1723 should be open. if it says not responding, possible config issue. did you do any DMZ?

if you try port scan from outside to inside your LAN and 1723 not open, try to remove the DMZ first bro and see what happened.

Have disabled DMZ, VPN server on the RT-N56U is now accessible from outside via Maxis 3G. Have not tested internet and home network access via VPN yet, a bit busy with work.

can't get speed more than 500kb/s for video streaming especially HD movie as I'm on VIP10.

Already remove the QoS.
Any steps I can check in my RT-N66 ?

Yes, finally vpn server works. So dmz needs to be disabled for vpn server to work. I made 2 more changes though.

1. The vpn client ip pool 193.168.1.91-100, changed to same subnet as my home network 192.168.1.10-90

2. DNS server settings for vpn clients were manually configured to my UnoTelly DNS servers (paid service).

for VPN you have to use unique subnet to ensure there will be no conflict routes. the rest should be ok biggrin.gif i tested the vpn, and it works perfectly fine, i can stream from my home NAS thumbup.gif

For pptp, need to have a pc turned on to access my smb sharw from outside
If use open VPN , need a TAP app to get SMB working and for that need root and some extra config using an app which was nvr updated since 2012...sigh...

Dilemma. ..
