not only you, L920 heating up is so abnormal even my previous htc devices ..titan doesn't have such heat while surf net with data or wifi on..

Agree with the heat, and the battery life is.. 1hour with data on standby drop 12%

An update to my 620 & 920 problems

Problem: Find my phone doesn't show two checkboxes. Only one slider to turn on and off. For those that do not know what I'm talking about,

Solution: I backup and hard reset the phone. Then I restore. The settings now appears.


920
Problem: Low light shots seems to degrade.
Solution: After comparing shots taken by other 920 and doing some more tests, it appears to be the pictures are on par. Although I do really feel that the quality degraded a little, since it's on par with other 920s, I'm going to put it to rest.


On the other hand, I find the restore phone function of windowsphone works well but with some annoyances.
1. I put msia as my home region and it restores apps available to msian market automatically. Fantastic

2. For non-msian market apps, it doesn't show the app icon and app name. It just shows "Downloading application.. some numbers.". Tapping it just gives some generic error message. Even when I change the region to US, it still displays that. I had to tap retry.

3. After changing to US region and downloading US apps, I still have some apps that I cannot download. After counting the number of apps and counting the number of "nokia system apps(audio, extra+info etc)" in the windowsphone.com, I guess these are the apps. But I'm not sure since I cannot see the icon or the name.

I find this a teeny bit annoying. When you reply to an email (or compose a new email), there is an attach button where you supposedly can attach documents. What I found out is that you can only (using that particular button) attach photos and nothing else.

The only way to attach a documents (say PDF/Word/Excel Documents etc) is via the dedicated app where you can "share" the files. But this will be problematioc if you need to reply to someone as the share option will create a new email.

Also, can anyone confirm that you can open and edit Office documents (not editing PowerPoint) that is saved in your phone (via drag and drop from Windows Explorer, email attachments) BUT you actually cannot create a New word or excel documents straight from the phone?

That is just annoying.

not sure about the attaching documents, but for the Office inside your phone, u CAN create a new xcel or words from a blank documents. Just press the" + " icon below.

For the life of me I cannot find the + button. Do I need to setup Office 365?

True true .... too long with iOS mehhh .... heh heh heh. Still the attachment thing is a bit annoying. Still in iOS you can't attach jack shit (unless you jailbreak and buy the Cydia AnyAttach tweak) ... so email in WP8 is still miles ahead.

can take off or must stay on phone body for warranty claim?

Anyone can try this, take a screenshot, go to whatsapp, try and attach the screenshot to a friend. Any problem doing so ?

This has been reported. It's because Whatsapp only supports .jpg while screenshots taken are of type .png. Next major release should see Whatsapp rectify that, fingers crossed

I hope the next major update will change how notifications come in. Right now that is my biggest gripe with Whatsapp . The delay of the notifications when you data cuts of is really horrible sigh..

Regarding this heat issue, if you look at the video at the start of the thread, you'll notice that the top part which heats up is where the CPU, and what I think should be the radio chip is sitting in. Those things are going to heat up when in use, nothing much you can do about it. Think about the clock speed difference between your old phones and the L920. It's quite drastic!
