I guess it's the same but just private has higher charges maybe. But I send my cat to Kota Dsara. And it's used to Dr Chan cuz brought it thr since he was newborn. So far my cat's healthy and fine and always recover from illness after bringing it to him. Really young vet doctor but he definitely knows what he's doing. Nyways here's the address.
Palm Spring Veterinary Clinic,
Unit C-G08, Blk C, JALAN PERSIARAN SURIAN,
PalmSpring@Damansara, 47810 Kota Dsara,
Petaling Jaya, Selangor.
Tel Num: 03-78015345
Just called Palm Spring Vet, I think I spoke to the doctor there, he was articulate and sounded like he knew things. However, to my disappointment, as a vet, he's doesn't seem to very empathetic over the phone. I had called to inquire if he had the facilities to treat my cat who might have a heart problem, I prod further when he said yes just to make sure. I sounded anxious over the phone as was feeling distress. I suspect he took it personally and probably got offended as my subsequent call on if he could make a house call, he told me to call elsewhere as it was raining. I had suggested he could come when it stops, but he says he would be closed then (which was a good 2 hours away). I thought it was a lame excuse to say it's raining so he can't come to see my very ill cat.
What made me draw the conclusion that he was taken aback by my question was because he did not even ask where my cat's location was, my place was less than 1 km away from his clinic, but I have great difficulty bringing my poor cat out as he hates strangers and doesn't like leaving the house. He normally screams and fights when I try to put him in the carrier, so I rather I not stress him out unnecessarily due to his current state. When he suggested I go elsewhere, he said like Bangsar, I had just told him my issue about ferrying my cat around, so his flippant suggestion shows that he doesn't care, (probably trying to be sarcastic) since I prodded about his facilities and stating my concerns. Note, that he suggested Bangsar without even knowing my cat's location, there were much nearer vets to his place than Bangsar that would likely to have the same facilities as him.
I had asked him the question on facilities as I had been to several vets who did not have the facilities to treat my cats and late dog, like xray, ecg and other surgical procedures. I really did not want to ferry my very ill cat from clinic to clinic, hence had call to make sure. I had called other vets earlier at further locations, they were more empathetic and kind in handling the situation. The Palm Spring vet just kept mum when I asked him a question, as if afraid in giving away free consultation over the phone. My first encounter of this vet is very bad, I will not go to him unless I can't help it. I'd try those who are slightly further away but showed more concern over the phone and shared some simple advice. As I am done writing the comment, the rain has stopped, and it's 1.5 hours to closing.
I have decided to wait a while and bring my ill cat to the Animal Hospital in KL, am more assured there that they would have more complete facilities, reduces the risk of having to relocate him to another clinic.

Speaking of vets, never go to the PALM SPRING VET in damansara.
In terms of quality of service, it is lacking.
In termso f pricing, it is exorbitantly high.
In terms of dispensing medicine, the young doctor gives out expired medicine which I found out while on a visit to another vet.
There have been many painful incidents with this vet, and I strongly recommend people to stay away from him.
Added on July 18, 2010, 1:00 pmMy dog had his cataract removed at UPM- it is one of the few (if not the only) places that you can have cataract surgery.
There's a well known doctor there by the name of Dr Cheng.
Added on July 18, 2010, 1:10 pmIm sorry to have to disagree with you.
Dr Chan's services are really poor compared to other vets in PJ area. Which vet would give out expired heartm edicine to a sick dog?
Which vet would lose the blood test report of a sick dog?
There have been too many mistakes by this vet, and no one should send any pet to him.
It is a serious caes of damage done to pet owners, and no one can forgive these mistakes.
Hi, I had just left a comment on Palm Spring Vet, I'd believe your comment on service based on my experience over the phone with him just now.

Anyone had tried to send their pets to Damansara Animal Centre (a vet that reside in PetSafari, IKANO)?
Mind to share your experience?
I'm still deciding either to take my cat to Damansara Animal Centre(easy to park my car, and to shop at PetSafari), or to

I've sent my cat Damansara Animal Clinic before when he got a scratched in the eye, my cat was treated and then we thought it would be better to keep him away from our other cat who scratched him while he's nursing his eye. I am grateful to the vet for taking my cat in last minute for boarding, even though I didn't have the vaccination records. It saved me a lot of hassle as I had a flight to catch in 3 hours (so it was a mad rush when the emergency came up). That showed the flexibility by the vet and her concern for the animal, thought the receptionist was very insistent on the vaccination records as prove (she was not the friendliest person). Family members who visited my cat saw that he was the only cat most of the time in boarding for 1 week and is safely separated from other cats in transparent cages when there were.
The doctor doesn't seem to be a super huggy cat lover, but kudos to her for showing flexibility in times of need. That's a very important trait of a caring doctor.

Address for the other Seri Kembangan clinic
St. Angel Animal Medical Center
No 1-1, Jln Equine 9,

I've tried searching for the phone number through operator but they only have the Kajang branch. Hm.
Added on August 7, 2008, 7:31 pmVomitting can be a sign of indigestion. Its not a chronic sickness actually unless you cat vomit every time he/she eats. Go to this
THREAD to learn more about it.
I've been to Baby Pets in SK for a few times. The charge seems reasonable. I've brought a stray cat who got into an accident to this clinic. They gave me discount and de-worming tablets. Nice doc!
If your cat is reaaaally reaaaaally sick and you have car, I really recommend you to go to UKM. The sifu of all Malaysian vets are there. Less than half an hour ride from Cyber.
Speaking of Baby Pets, I've been there before once after discovering UPM vet was closed. The vet there was extremely helpful in explaning my late dogs heart condition. He drew out for me the heart diagram on his white board behind the door. As with all vets I've been, he recommended a low sodium diet for my dog, however I was not to keen on the low sodium but pricey dog food. To my surprised, he whipped out his "Bible" (I mean his text book) and copied down a home cook low sodium recipe for me. I never forgot this very helpful vet, unfortunately, Sri Kembangan is really far from my place. And yes, the "lecture" I got on dog's heart was free, he didn't slap me with a huge bill despite the long consultation. I recall the charges were competitive with UPM.
Added on November 16, 2010, 3:25 amI'm looking for a regular vet for my cat, but I just realized there are so many in the vicinity of my home! I used to go all the way to Right Angle, Sec 14 before discovering this forum. Funny how I used to wish that there were more vets in PJ, and when I got what I wished for, now I wish I knew which one to go to.
I don't see any comments here on Healing Pets in Damansara Jaya, had read good reviews on the doctor on other sites (other than friendly, committed to his emergency services). Frankly, I do not mind if the doctor is not super friendly to my pet, but more importantly is generous in dispensing advice, highly competent, reliable and of course reasonably priced. There were also good comments on Philos in Sec 17. Quite a few on Hands & Paws here. Some on Animal Health Centre @ Ara. There's also Kristy's Ark but I find only lukewarm respond. Like when choosing a GP/Specialist for myself/family, I'd check the credentials of the doctor first. The only vet that stated it I found so far was Animal Health Centre @ Ara, I was very impressed to know that one of the vets there is a visiting doctor at PAWS. I am very sympathetic towards homeless animals & had recently been to PAWS for a matter related to it. Torn between HP@DJ and AHC@Ara now, HP@DJ for convenience and reputation of reliability in emergencies, AHC@Ara to support doctors who are out to help homeless animals.
What would you suggest based on your experience with the vets I had just mentioned?
On an unrelated matter, I have this impression that there are vets out there who didn't choose veterinarian science as their first choice of studies in the Malaysian public uni application, but got placed in the course somehow and ended up as vets out of practicality, not passion. One important criteria I expect from a doctor is to have a desire to help those in need, before the financial and social incentives of having a Dr. in front of their name.
