basicaly it all start with ya basic license (a,c,e,i,r, x), then ya type rating license (e.g 737-400, ng, 747-400 and so on) some company impose restriction on how much a/c (type rating) you can take. so its all start from there, if more coverage ya have = more salary/ money. m'sia airliners (mas, fax,aa,sae, transmile etc) do offer huge amount of money but vary between expatriate or local engg., mostly in rm but dont know any in foreign currency thou.

here local lae single trade can get around rm 7k, some dual trade (e n i) with full ot can reach rm 23k. heard from few fellas that non rated lae who join with firefly (new airline) get as low as rm7k!

so to get USD 25k with license + experience is possible.. but dont get carried away with salary, its the basic license more important now laugh.gif notworthy.gif

its a very good prospect for the job you know. tongue.gif im currently studying at MIAT which providing courses in this field. when you get the licensed you can work all over the world. but you need to do it step by step. the first licensed is LWTR(licensed without type rating), this licensed can categorized into 3.A-Airframe,C-Engine,X-Avionics(R-Radio,I-Instruments,E-Electrical).you can choose which tread you like. if you are malay you can apply for Malaysian Institute of Aviation Technology or you also can apply for TAME program under MAS. and you also can find out a pro courses conducted by APR in TTDI shah alam.

Added on April 17, 2007, 1:42 pma&p licence issued by FAA. work on "N" registered aircrafts (FAA/US)
LWTR is issued by the respective regulatory authority of that particular country.there would be differences in the legislation/regulation part and conversion usually requires you to sit for an exam for the air legislation before the grant of local LWTR.
