aeronautic engineering and aircraft maintenance is totally diffent lol...
aeronautis is evrything like aircraft, rocket, jet, heli, satellite..etc but aircraft is aircraft laa...
if u got PhD in aeronautic sekalipun, u r not an aircraft engineer. u must get the license...

so now i should quit my course and join MAS?

best way with proper taining to become LAE is MAS. TAME (training aircraft maint engineer) program. is a 5 years program but now it called AMT (follow EASA syllabus). afor AMT program, after 2 years they will evaluate u and if not satisfied u will demoted to mechanic. also 5 years program. correct me if iam wrong.

either quiting your program... i have no idea.

thanks, i would like to know more about this AMT which mas is offering.is there anywhere i can go to enquire more? when is the next intake?
btw LAE's salary berapa ah? tongue.gif tongue.gif just curious tongue.gif

Erm guys, i am here to ask a few questions regarding this Aircraft Maintenance Engineering course. I just finished my SPM and is currently awaiting result, and i'm quite interested in this course offered by Nilai University College.

Nilai stated that course was newly released and we're the pioneer batch. From there, we can obtain our diploma + our EASA license under a 2 years program + 6 months of trainee program. I would like to know the other alternate routes of taking up this course at different college/unis. Any1 mind to enlighten me?

Btw, is this course more like a mechanic in aircraft? I mean i love aircraft and stuffs like that but i'm not so much into the engine part. Of course that is one thing that we have to study so is it still advisable for me to go? I love physics related concept and aircraft, but on the other hand i am afraid that i do not have too much interest in the mechanical part. However, that's what i think only, i believe i can still cope with it if i want to. So can anyone enlighten me by giving a more detailed idea about what is the modules of the course? thanks

It might be a good course..or just a trap..
Many of us seriously doubt the "we can obtain our diploma + our EASA license under a 2 years program + 6 months of trainee program"
because the min period to get ur easa license is 3 years working on a LIVE aircraft if I'm not mistaken, so I really suggest you to ask everything clearly from Nilai college's counsellor if you wanna join. Regarding the different uni's n colleges, whatever course you take, dip or degree, you'll still need that few years exp on a live aircraft to obtain your easa license. unis & colleges don't just give you a license like they give you a degree.

here's a website for the modules that you'll need to go through,

I am in he same boat as you.Im considerin enrolling for the AME course in Nilai UC. U will be an mechanic in aircraft, similiar to mechanics for automobiles. I also love the physics related concepts and have an interest in aircraft.

I would enjoy the theory part but i have the same fear as u as well. The mechanic part...the assembling and fixing. I dont have much interest in the mechanical part.
I always have ppl askin"do u remove and assemble ur bicycle?" "do u remove parts and assemle them again?"  its some what annoying.
But i enjoy figuring out how things work.

I don't think this job will suit you & ccm, this job is all about practical, you will suffer if you force yourself in but do not have the passion in it,

this questions "I always have ppl askin"do u remove and assemble ur bicycle?" "do u remove parts and assemle them again?" its some what annoying." usually reflect your true "inner self" , if you actually take apart your toys or bicycle when you were young it shows to them that you do have the interest & passion, quite an important factor that determines if you'll make it pass the interview or not, my uncle interviews people with this method too.

he joined? my god...dare not say that its a good thing, but i wish him all the best. Is he aiiming for technician or engineer or ect? Singapore Airlines requirement is always high, requiring a degree here and there. They won't take you even if you have a license but without a degree if I'm not mistaken.
