1. Yes, there is a possibility but you will need more EM for the same ticket. Do log into https://www.enrich.malaysiaairlines.com/ for more details. For example, normal redemption with EM for one way from KUL to BKK will need only 8,500 miles but you will need 18,700 miles for redemption during peak season like Hari Raya, Chinese New Year and etc.

It doesn't matter whether you receive the new card & luggage tag or not, just use your MH number upon check in and you would see that it will be listed as Enrich Silver or Ruby for the One World.

I am sure there's a lot of more interesting luggage tag out there , just hate that they mention my full name on the tag and that drives me nuts

Emailed them and was given a case number and that's it, it's been more than 1 month and every time when I tried to follow up, I was told to wait for further instruction on email. Transit in Hong Kong? The ticket is sold under Cathay Pacific? You gotta be very careful with the Cathay Pacific booking class, some of the lower fares doesn't give you any miles which means no elite sector.

Conclusion is yes, It is considered 2 sectors if you have a transit in HK with the correct booking class.

Yes, maximum amount of miles for a recipient to receive is "50000" miles per year. But is it really worthwhile to transfer considering Malaysia Airlines is charging RM0.04 per EM transferred + RM40 administration fee. So in total, you will need to pay RM2040 for 50000 miles.
