hi guys, quick question about HDD power consumption:

i'm planning to buy a new hard disk.. minimum 1TB. probably Caviar series.

Currently I have 2 hdds in my PC, with a GTX650 Ti Boost, 4GB ram and an i5 Lynnfield 2.8GHz processor, powered by a Corsair TX650 PSU.

is it safe for me to add another HDD without compromising system stability (power wise)?

many apologies if this seems to be a stupid question. I just want to be sure.. thanks many many thanks in advance!

Nothing to worry about mate. Your PSU is even capable of powering up an AMD R9 290X. thumbup.gif

There's plenty of good option for rm300-ish

- FSP Raider 550W/650W RM225/RM259
- Seasonic S12 II 620W RM299
- Antec Strictly VP-550P RM299
- FSP Hexa 500W RM149

Or even better :

- FSP Aurum M 650W 80+ Gold RM349
- CM Vanguard V550 80+ Gold RM329
- Corsair CS550S 80+ Gold RM350

Just pick any you like.. smile.gif

Hey guys. Just want to confirm. Im using this 500w PSU. Does it enough to power up Zotac GTX760? The rest of component state in my Intel sig. biggrin.gif

Nvidia stated recommended is 500w. Zotac state 600w. Googling and some say can, some say otherwise. Need clarification from sifus.
Thanks.

You can use back the PSU if there's no major problem..
