QUOTE(myway1985 @ Feb 9 2024, 04:43 PM) Apparently the NGDP PCB is tagged for use from 850W all the way to 1300W so it might be using the same platform but differs in just the components. Still would be interesting to compare yours 850W to Cimaris review on the higher wattage units and see where it differs.Speaking of 1st player, here a plant visit to Helly (the OEM for 1st player) |

Update on the RMA on Super Flower PSU...ended up with FSP Hydro PTM Pro ATX 3.0 1200w cause the FSP Hydro TI 1000W is out of stock..so far so good, no more coil whine. I guess I am unlucky to get 2x coil whine PSU from Super Flower cause Super Flower usually makes reliable PSU.

Interesting to know how you complain on the coil whine. Did you take a recording of the sound or you brought it back to Suncycle and ask them to test? |

Did you take a recording of the sound or you brought it back to Suncycle and ask them to test? I took a video and show it to Suncycle service center. But then they themselves will also test again. Since the coil whine is pretty obvious so it's under warranty replacement. babylon52281 liked this post

1st Player STEAMPUNK 80PLUS GOLD 650W (RM308) 7 years warranty
Silverstone Decathlon DA650 (RM338) 3 years warranty Guys, I'm wondering which one is the better buy, 1st player, which is cheaper and comes with a 7 years warranty, or the Silverstone, which comes with a 3 years warranty and is more expensive. A longer warranty gives me the feeling that it's meant to "last longer". |

Long warranty PSUs can also be a problem, particularly when OEM make updates on the PCB or even the brand changes OEM maker for the same model. Corsair is amongst that has long running series CV & CX that gets OEM changeover making modular cable matching a risky thing. |

Anyone has any experience with Segotep GM850W?
Couldn't find any review of this particular unit online. But it's on B tier (speculative) in PSU Tier List. So am curious |

QUOTE(lemonish @ Jun 5 2024, 11:17 PM) Anyone has any experience with Segotep GM850W? For such high wattage unit, better dont take the risk, unless price is super damn cheap. Even then why risk a high end system? You are better off to going with a not famous but decent PSU brand like FSP or 1st Player or DeepCool, get those ATX 3.0/3.1 certified. XPG Core, Kyber, Pylon series also not bad by reviews.Couldn't find any review of this particular unit online. But it's on B tier (speculative) in PSU Tier List. So am curious |

How about for 650W below,Would it eliminate or just reduce the risk? This one just writes ATX 3.0 Ready on the box. not sure whether that means certified or not. |
