QUOTE(Halls1234 @ Mar 22 2023, 09:52 AM) i dont see any major upgrade in anytime soon as just spend load. You'll need at least 550W, or 600W to be optimum, and 650W is better if ur going to add more SSD, HDD, more fans, RGB lights, & better GPU down the line.I have budgetted all parts that i need. QUOTE(TheLegend27 @ Apr 5 2023, 11:45 AM) website cannot enter. in fact i bought silverstone viva 750w gold. but seller send me this invasion psu, ask me can accept or not. so i check here first. I dont seem to have any problem, perhaps try clear cache or another browser. Anyhow that Viva Gold is Tier B, meanwhile that Invasion is not even listed. Insist for what you originally bought. |

QUOTE(Duckies @ Apr 7 2023, 09:33 AM) Who is the official distributor of Seasonic power supply in Malaysia? I saw Seasonic Vertex GX-1200 has stocks in Newegg..is it safe to buy there? Just wonder if there's any international warranty.. Anything bought outside of Msia will have to go back to seller for warranty. I doubt there is warranty coverage for bought in another country. If ur Murican bought it in Murica but spoiled in Msia, you might probably get some service locally. |

QUOTE(yellowflashdude @ May 14 2023, 12:24 PM) I currently have a 550w 80+ bronze psu. Planning to upgrade to a 4070 which doesn't draw more than 200w at load for gaming (based on benchmarking videos). Whats ur other specs? If you been running a 12900K and using the iGPU of course that 550W PSU faced no problems to date but add on that 4070 and you got BIG problem. Instead why not use a online PSU calculator to find out whats the safe wattage for ur needs?https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/geforce-rtx-4070.c3924 Please advise whether Im being stupid or not over this? |

QUOTE(PJng @ Jun 29 2023, 11:35 AM) Becareful if you try to use a 200W GPU esp from Ampere gen, what the PSU needed ie 500W is not factored in transient spikes which could go way up. Lets say for 3060Ti, you will need a 650W PSU. |

QUOTE(chocobo7779 @ Jun 30 2023, 01:39 AM) Exact make and model of the PSU itself? Dont look at the TDP on paper, real world measurement a 4070 "eats" nearly 50% moreA 4070 isn't a power demanding GPU, so a 550W unit is plenty sufficient provided that it's a quality unit ![]() This not yet factored in transient spikes, and depending on which CPU & other components. Even a decent 13500 system will overload a 550W PSU once it PL2 turbo for 60 secs. WaNaWe900 liked this post

QUOTE(peter32 @ Jul 5 2023, 03:35 PM) My current project requiring me to power dual Xeon CPU on motherboard. So I got myself a FSP HV PRO 85+ Bronze 650W, which was described to have 2 8 and 4+4 EPS connectors built-in. I have that HV Pro, its just a cheapish but usable desktop PSU for mid lower tier PC not something I would put into a server grade workstation ie dual Xeons. Now I have the items with me, turned out that the so-called 2 EPS is actually an extension of the 8pin to another 4+4 pins. Question1; can I use both connectors from the same cable to power up dual CPU? Can the cable sustain the potential power that might flow through the same cable. Question 2: This China made motherboard gave instructions that if our PSU has only one EPS, we can use one PCI4 6+2 pins, connect the 6 pins into the CPU connector but reverse the orientation, ie. face the clip opposite to the clip on the CPU connector. Has anyone done this before and how safe it is. I tried to search online but such tweak is hard to find online. Thank you and have a great day. Yes the 'dual' EPS is coming from single rail and so I guess its not really meant to power separate CPUs. You will need something in Gold or Platinum level and around 1000W or so depending on how may addons. A server PSU is meant for this mobo but if buying off market, then get a modular cable PSU that has separate dual EPS connections. Something like this ![]() And please DO NOT try connect PCIE power to EPS. Physically they are keyed differently no matter how you orient, and they are wired differently so it will short the mobo if you tried. |

QUOTE(Skylinestar @ Sep 5 2023, 03:02 PM) If by high end means modular, most of these are configured to output to PCIE or 12VHPWR and some have dedicated 12VHPWR rails. As myway said, 12VHPWR will be replaced by 12V 2x6 but not so soonish https://www.pcgamer.com/thank-the-gpu-gods-...hpwr-connector/ Vincent6596 liked this post

QUOTE(Duckies @ Sep 19 2023, 03:25 PM) Is the port same? If not should I wait for new one comes out then only buy the new PSU? Is FSP Hydro TI Pro 1000W a good ATX 3.0 PSU? Nobody outside knows the details for sure but it would appear to be backwards compatible with 12VHPWR just redesigned to have better safety margins. If can wait until 2025 why not, if cannot wait then why not buy now?Call me biased as I have an FSP PSU myself (not this unit mentioned thou) but here is what Aris of HWB have to say: "There is a new king in the 1000W category. The FSP Hydro Ti Pro 1000W unit offers jaw-dropping performance in almost every area, especially transient response, which matters the most in real-life conditions." He is undisputedly the PSU God and you can read his review here https://hwbusters.com/psus/fsp-hydro-ti-pro...-psu-review/11/ |

QUOTE(Duckies @ Feb 7 2024, 10:40 PM) Sigh.. Not sure I unlucky or what. I got a unit of Super Flower Leadex VII 1000w that has coil whine and it's loud. Thank God the RMA is quick but I had to top up to get the 1300w cause the 1000w and other equivalent is out of stock BUT this replacement unit also got the same coils whine issue...need to RMA after CNY again.. If you were targeting a quiet operation PSU, unfortunate to say that the higher wattage unit is more noisier in fact Cimaris pointed out its super noisy for the 1300W versionSo 2 units of Super Flower also got coil whine issue.. 1000W unit at <30db ![]() 1300W unit at > 36db ![]() Cimaris also has this to say; "I am afraid that coil whine can be a problem in almost all modern PSUs under some conditions, because of the LLC resonant converter that they use. It is also the combination of hardware, the other system parts, that can lead to coil whine. Give it a go with be quiet! units which usually make sure to eliminate such problems." QUOTE(Duckies @ Feb 8 2024, 07:59 AM) Fan noisy I can understand. Problem is I haven't even put in the GPU already got coil whine sound =( Its the overall noise level of these PSU while in operation, Im guessing that once the fan kicks in its noise would have drown out coil whine so if you cannot tahan this then a higher fan noise level would be worse in your situation.Super Flower is distributed by Sun Cycle.. So they have limited brands that I can exchange. One of it maybe I can exchange for FSP or NCXT PSU.. In that case, going back to a lower wattage unit will be 'quieter' for your usage (that incudes coil whine & fan noise). |

QUOTE(Duckies @ Feb 8 2024, 12:26 PM) Yeah unfortunately Cimaris is one man show so he limited resources to how much he can do such indepth reviews plus he also does check out other PC hardwares particularly fans nowadays. But others (like Anand) pun boleh laa as the most important is knowing the guts what components difference they both using; maybe 1 full Jap caps the other partial Jap caps or something. Another is the fan used. Good luck finding out. If not, I would say cast your search net wider to find other reviews but might not have done for both as comparison. From cultist list at least its confirmed PTM Pro is A tier grade while PTM X Pro is speculative A tier so make it what you will.
