How about for 650W below,
Would it eliminate or just reduce the risk?

This one just writes ATX 3.0 Ready on the box.
not sure whether that means certified or not.
*
ATX 3.0 doesn't translate into PSU quality, nor is 80+ bronze/silver/gold/plat

easy to tell whether if a PSU is shit, just see the warranty
segotep offers 2 years warranty. ez. shit tier

I am looking for Gold(ATX3.1) version instead of ATX3.0.
HW Busters did recommended for Gold version as well end of the review.

Not sure is there any other real-life review I can get from Sifus here. hehe

If you read this
https://hwbusters.com/quick-tips/should-i-g...u-need-to-know/

You will understand why you better off with a ATX3.0 certified unit rather than the newer standard.

Any recommendation for 1000w-ish PSU that is value for money?

read few reviews and looking at our market prices,
looks like these are in the list.

1. 1st Player NGDP 1000W
2. Couger GEX X2 1000W
3. Thermaltake Toughpower GF3 1000W or 1200W
4. Deepcool PX1000G

Thoughts?

You can read the reviews I think most of these gotten reviewed. But my guess any will do fine just take the one with longest warranty & best RMA if you know which

According to HWB, GF3 uses the same CWT platform as Deepcool PX so your really deciding 1, 2, 3 or 4 (whichever cheaper & longer warranty as they have the same innards) in that regards you can also consider Montech Titan Gold since it also uses CWT.

It has been about 7 years since I have last bought a power supply for my build.
Now its maybe about time I updated and get a new PSU. After doing some calculating my build consumes about below 500 watts.
Any recommendations? I am more partial towards FSP and Superflower but I can consider other brands as long as it was in tier A by cultists

PS: I saw quite a number of seller selling EVGA 1300w mining PSU. Anybody know who are the OEM for that psu? I'm just curious
because there are no detailed reviews of that PSU in the internet.

base on your budget

Modular / non modular

600w / 750w / 850w

Gpu is the most power hungry among all power consumption..

Corsair 80+Gold rated units, 1st Player NGDP (Atier) & Steampunk(Btier), Coolermaster 80+Gold rated, MSI MAG & MPG
EVGA 80+Gold rated would have been too but their dying brand so even you got a 10 year warranty brand new unit, chances they may not stick around to honour it the many years later.

And your taking a big risk going with exminer gear, the GPU, PSU, BTC Mobo, just nope.

Budget: Between RM500 to RM800
Modular (no non modular that have gold rating)
850watt. 750 watt is fine too if got tight budget.

Currently running GTX950. Future plan will include upgrading to a GPU that can run 1080p games easily and probably some light video editing, and probably AM5.

So I guess EVGA is out of question. Currently looking at FSP hydro G pro, superflower leadex iii gold, corsair RM and seasonics.

Can consider FSP Vita GM. 80+ Gold Full Modular. This is ATX 3.1, good for future proofing.

850w less than RM600, 1000w less than RM700.

Relatively new, so currently not in PSU cultlist (it hasn't been updated for a while now).

There are other ATX 3.1 options too like 1stPlayer.

To run just 1080P games no need high powered PSU even 650W dah cukup. But going for a much higher watt PSU does means you have more headroom for better upgrades (for 1440P/4K GPU) or migrate it to a new build later on.

I saw that seems like all reviewed ATX3.0 & 3.1 PSU are good quality builds and would be in the A or at least B Tier if listing is updated. So far hard to find a 'budget' tier model.

I believe so.. because atx 3.1 efficiency requirement is higher, so likely the psu will be upper tier as well.

I really like the ATX3x std that the industry came out as it can differentiate between decent/good and really crap PSUs. One one hand, you can close eyes and buy any ATX3x and you will at least guarantee to get at least BTier unit. OTOH, 'budget' tier are left to go 2 ways; either all the manufacturers up the quality of budget models to meet ATX3x std which will then raise overall PSU prices, or else they will divorce the budget tier to remain with older ATX2.0 which is really bad coz then the market will have 2 standards the latest std for expensive models (with C Tiers too) and older std for crap firestarter units will continue to exist.

I kinda liked the current offerings by FSP in particular those Hydro G pros simply because they have that eco mode in which I would turn it off so that the fan can keep spinning regardless of temperature laugh.gif
The new Vita GM looks great, compact even. I will wait for the complete review on this.
Not sure about 1stPlayer because this one is new to me.

That was what I am looking for, that headroom. I bought my 850w psu because I am thinking that the psu would not be working so hard because my build isn't high powered. laugh.gif
But yeah I will upgrade to 1440p sooner or later so having a higher wattage psu will be great.

I have the Hydro G Pro 750w. I was surprised it came bundled with a native 12vhpwr cable (much better than gpu supplied splitter), despite being an old model.
While it is no Seasonic, at rm430, this psu is a banger thumbsup.gif

IF your going to upgrade to 1440P in some time, yeah stick to 800-850W Gold rated PSU, you wont go wrong with any of the named brands but 1st player NGDP is worth to consider if its cheaper than the others. PSU guru Cmaris gave it a good review https://hwbusters.com/psus/1st-player-ngdp-850w-psu-review/
