Thanks for the suggestions, msi should be the better choice. On the psu, is it available in viewnet? Didn't saw it in the price list.
Many on this forum get the hexa PSU from viewnet so it should be available.[Official] Rig Suggestion Thread V2, Hardware Q&A RRG™

Most likely will go for it as it's still quite a powerful card and can run most games well. Thanks guys.Btw, 6870 is a very old powerful card, will it last another 2 years ? Hey guys I'm interested in upgrading my old rig so that i can play recently released games at possibly the highest settings with a stable FPS.
Budget: <RM2500 Purpose: Gaming Hardware that will be reuse from old rig: ~500W PSU, Monitor, 8GB DDR3RAM, Harddrive, Mouse, Keyboard, Speakers. Location: Subang Jaya Essentially, I need a recommendation on a Processor + GPU pairing, accompanied with a decent motherboard. All for less than RM2500 if possible. Thanks in advance This post has been edited by KepalaRadio: Dec 16 2012, 05:16 AM |

QUOTE(chocobo7779 @ Dec 16 2012, 08:45 AM) What's your PSU? Hi Chocobo thanks for the reply! Anyways i forgot to mention in my post that i don't require a CDROM, casing, and a PSU (in fact, i'm using the PSU that you have listed there). Which frees up around RM600 in the budget. My enquiries are;i5 3470-RM569 MSI B75MA-P45-RM229 -Reuse RAMs- Sapphire HD7950 3GB OC-RM1099 -No HDD- LiteOn DVD Writer-RM60 CM K280 Casing-RM128 Seasonic G 550 PSU-RM329 (lingloong@Garage Sales) Total: RM2414 Prices from Viewnet... 1) Is it worth paying a little extra to get an i7? As far as i know games these days are not able to fully utilize an i7, am i right? 2) Is there a significant difference between an ATI7950 and a Nvidia670? Appreciate your help |

My enquiries are; 1) better save if for the GPU, a quad core like i5 is more than enough to not bottleneck the latest GPU generation. also, if you dont do CPU intensive tasks like data crunching, rendering etc, the i7 will be very underutilized1) Is it worth paying a little extra to get an i7? Another question,
http://my.msi.com/product/mb/#/?sk=Socket%...tel%20i3/i5/i7) There is a feature on MSI motherboard, OC Genie II: Auto OC to boost performance in 1 sec. Is this feature for real or just a gimmick ? Took me a week just to choice a Mobo for my i3-3220, now I have look at virtu MVP feature too. Some reviews say it does not increase the minimum FPS. |

QUOTE(WiLeKiyO @ Dec 16 2012, 10:59 PM) Another question, It does work, and most board manufacturers have their own overclocking feature for their boards. How far OC Genie can bring your components though depends on your board and your components' limitation. Don't expect too much from an Auto overclocking feature http://my.msi.com/product/mb/#/?sk=Socket%...tel%20i3/i5/i7) There is a feature on MSI motherboard, OC Genie II: Auto OC to boost performance in 1 sec. Now suddenly people mention about this Virtu MVP thingy, which is like using both iGPU and GPU to boost performances. Why nowadays motherboard also pattern banyak banyak. |
