My little brother rig:
Possessor : AMD athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5400+ (2 CPUs), ~ 2.8GHz with Hyper 212 Plus cooler. Memory : 4GB Ram DDR2 (Brought DDR3 1600 4GBx2 G.SKILL RAM) MotherBoard : GA-MA770-DS3 Video Card : NVIDIA GeForce 9600GT Power Supply : Huntkey AFPC 700W. (Reuse if possible, but review says this brand is problematic) Casing: (Reuse) - 1920xs1080p Monitor - play all modern at High/Medium setting games. - No OC - Only gaming purpose. With maximum budget RM800, how should I upgrade this old rig ? What I planed is change a new MOBO and CPU 1st. But I am afraid of bottleneck by GT9600. I come to this bang for buck CPU A10-5800k.
I read some comment on youtube, they said crossfire integrated GPU with a redeon card can get 5-10% performance boost. Do we have such thing ? Not sure youtube is trolling, or for real. Really pointless to get Discrete GPU ? This post has been edited by WiLeKiyO: Dec 1 2012, 10:44 AM |

Anyone will to explain regarding Motherboard type ?
What's the different between a RM300 Z77 montherboard and RM1000 Z77 motherboard ? Auto overclocking ? BIOS feature ? Able to overclock further ? The design ? expansion slot ? Support up to 4-way SLI/Crossfire ? Why people willing to speed over RM1k just on a MOBO itself as it does not really contribute to performance ? I remember there is "noob question" thread for asking some simply question, I hope mod can reopen the thread so that people like me can ask professional opinions there.
