*out topic for a while http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16820104360Kingston HyperX Black 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model KHX16C9B1BK2/8X 25.99 * 3.1 = RM80 + RM25 postage. Is this a good deal ? Or a value ram is sufficiency for a gaming rig ? This post has been edited by WiLeKiyO: Nov 26 2012, 04:25 PM

QUOTE(Clem1982 @ Nov 26 2012, 04:38 PM) Value RAM is good enough actually.. currently selling for RM57 a piece for DDR3 1333Mhz.. save your $$$ for something else cause RAM speed will not yield significant performance for normal usage But the RAM looks so a$$ kicking. Better stop viewing newegg deal. Poison a lot. UPDATE: Received the invoice from newegg, RM102.50. It's cheaper than value RAM. Should I buy it ? QUOTE(Clem1982 @ Nov 26 2012, 04:50 PM) if it's cheaper then might as well Brought it. 8GB value 1333 RAM cost around RM120. I think I should be happy to buy 1600 8GB RM102

QUOTE(AmeiN @ Nov 26 2012, 05:22 PM) Yeah, you got a pretty good deal there Sir.. If I live is USA, it only cost RM77. 1 step closer to buy my rig, now hunting the right CPU.

My little brother rig:
Possessor : AMD athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5400+ (2 CPUs), ~ 2.8GHz with Hyper 212 Plus cooler.
Memory : 4GB Ram DDR2 (Brought DDR3 1600 4GBx2 G.SKILL RAM)
MotherBoard : GA-MA770-DS3
Video Card : NVIDIA GeForce 9600GT
Power Supply : Huntkey AFPC 700W. (Reuse if possible, but review says this brand is problematic)
Casing: (Reuse)
- 1920xs1080p Monitor - play all modern at High/Medium setting games. - No OC - Only gaming purpose.
With maximum budget RM800, how should I upgrade this old rig ?
What I planed is change a new MOBO and CPU 1st. But I am afraid of bottleneck by GT9600.

QUOTE(chocobo7779 @ Nov 28 2012, 08:51 PM) Looks like you would need an overhaul... considering the board only supports a Phenom I.., and doesn't support a Phenom II.... Sell the CPU and GPU and go for this... Pentium G620-RM174 MSI H61M-P31-RM149 Sapphire HD7850 1GB-RM599 Total: RM922... Overbudget already.... unless you sell the CPU and the GPU... I'd recommend you to get the 2GB version of the card considering some games may require more than 1GB VRAM in 1080p... Very unlikely to sell these 2 junk . It's that ok to to upgrade the MOBO and CPU 1st ? Kesian my brother, play assassin creed at 20fps all low setting. This post has been edited by WiLeKiyO: Nov 28 2012, 08:55 PM

QUOTE(siles1991 @ Nov 28 2012, 08:57 PM) Yes but with your graphic card modern high setting not really possible. Save up more budget cause changing your CPU and mobo + the RAM wont make significant FPS gain without a good graphic card to pair it with. Actually RM800 is only for MOBO and GPU, I'll change the GPU a month after Now targeting i5-3470 and any MOBO below RM200. But I doubt the is not noticeable improvement in gaming. I come to this bang for buck CPU A10-5800k.
I read some comment on youtube, they said crossfire integrated GPU with a redeon card can get 5-10% performance boost. Do we have such thing ? Not sure youtube is trolling, or for real.
Really pointless to get Discrete GPU ?

QUOTE(Cable707 @ Dec 1 2012, 10:49 AM) No point on getting crossfire with low graphic card..and A10 CPU really eats your power by a LOT.. I guess I really need to top my my budget for i5 3470. Can't find any 4-core overclock ability below RM500.

QUOTE(sugarboi @ Dec 4 2012, 01:18 PM) So I can go to a low yat shop, pass them the spec sheet and ask them to build it? Havent been there for ages and I've never exactly bought a custom desktop before. If transport is not a problem, PM any dealer at this forum, lingloong or Zhen Wei. Buy from them and they can build the rig for free plus good cable management.

Anyone will to explain regarding Motherboard type ?
What's the different between a RM300 Z77 montherboard and RM1000 Z77 motherboard ?
Auto overclocking ? BIOS feature ? Able to overclock further ? The design ? expansion slot ? Support up to 4-way SLI/Crossfire ?
Why people willing to speed over RM1k just on a MOBO itself as it does not really contribute to performance ?
I remember there is "noob question" thread for asking some simply question, I hope mod can reopen the thread so that people like me can ask professional opinions there.
