probably resonance. all mechanical systems will encounter resonance effects at one point or another. it is also around this RPM that you hear a large 'brroooom' sound from my waja when you're in the backseat. the aircond panels and a couple of other items also start to squeek at these RPMs in cold wheater

but if the vibration is too great than the something is not right liao!

FOR PEOPLE WHO EXPERIENCE ENGINE DIE OFF DURING MORNING START .
CHECK:
-BATTERY
-YOUR FUEL FILTER ， NOT THE OIL FILTER , FUEL FILTER WHICH IS LOCATED NEAR YOUR FUEL TANK , NEED TO BE CHANGED EVERY 50k KM.

Went to SC yesterday to checked my 1.6A gear shifthing...It revvs long and high before shifting gear...The guy said my gear ratio error...he put the setting thingy and reset...Now feel ok already la...but was charged RM63 + 5% tax...is this normal?From what someone said before its just Rm30?

gear ratio is fixed , not from the ECU .
perhaps your ECU setting run already , have to re-adjust it .

I owned a proton waja year made 2002 1.6(M) should be mitsu engine but confirm engine model is 4G18 MPI.

I actually very casual in taking care my car until a big sound wake me up ! Since my car on the road until now, i had been change my tyres for 6 times (2 wheels each time). Then i started to check my car's condition as it costs me like hell !!!

Now i had change my timimng belt just yesterday, but my rmp went dam higher (up to 20K) until i dunt believe it, because it was remain 10k - 11k previuosly.

Hence i went for complaint, and the technician told me that he need to fine tune by disconnect the battery. I think using SAS method like what someone said before. However, he asking mine clarion reset password which i didnt realise the secret until he told me....

so i really need the pasword so much urgent right now. I seen mine handbook and the model is PW850515. does anyone know bout this thing? he say i can find it in the handbook, but i guess can't find it after searching the whole book.

clarion reset password ? what password ? u mean the HU ? i dont think so . or u mean the immobilizer , captor reset password ? but urs is 2002 .

i change a apexi air filter and a votech voltage stablizer , and my fuel consumtion was around rm70 for 350 km. i change gear at 4k rpm sometime 4.5k rpm due to the air filter sound nice mah, i consider okie with it. how about your?

i got 1 problem. which type of light bulbs your use if not HID. i notice mine was not bright enuff and the light was quite low. is it adjustable. thx

AMDX , yes , it is adjustable , same goes to the fog ligth .
my car is in garage now, keep on monitoring this thread , i will post up how to adjust the headlamp very soon .

i've heard that we shouldn't speed more than 90kmh until the odo is 1000km++....is it just rumours or fact?

2nd thing....i'm planning to add skirting to my waja and also tinted perhaps....anyone knows best place to deal n roughly how much will cost me to get an affordable n good quality of all that....?

it is actually the REVV where u cannot go above 4000-5000 range and the speed should not be above 90km.h .
ya , just follow it , 1000 passed very fast one .

i wanna ask something.

b4, i get to the point.
my car is waja 1.6 AT 1st batch(comes with 6 cds changer, 15" rim, mitsu engine)

my exhaust system got rustly as said by the technician and it needed to be change cz the entire pipe is in brown color.



based on the pic i attached, the one between muffler and the one look like cyclinde is what? technician said that caused the exhaust pipe got rustly-like-color.

but should i remove the one between those two? or change the enitre exhaust thing to performance type? recommend me.
