mana u pernah nampak the c24 straight pull replacement spokes?

it's definitely a "fat ass do not need apply" type of wheel... the spokes cannot be trusted at all... it "straight pulls" out of the hub body whenever it gets a chance to do so...

Guys check this out, there are few 2nd hand bikes brought over by some dudes from Germany and their price is quite tempting..it's like they bought in bulk, bringing it here in Dubai and sell it. My friend just bought a Giant from them..you can try looking in their FB page 3GProcycling..

They have storck, pinarello, everything..the most recent one is colnago c50..

But I'm not keen enough for a 2nd hand products hence I'm not buying anything lah..
*
it is not going to be cheap enough for us to fly there and buy rite?

maybe it's stolen shit... or the buggers there buy them for their maids to go pasar??? check with them see got include those front mounted basket FOC or not? then you know why got 2nd hand market...

QUOTE(stacker99 @ Dec 11 2012, 01:48 PM)
Hi ButtHead,

Thanks for the advise. It claimed to be a new unit which is up for auction.
Thanks for the pricing guide as well. Will give it a try if I'm lucky to get it below 2 grand..
*
2nd hand, maybe... new, not much of a chance..

QUOTE(miaopurr @ Dec 11 2012, 01:58 PM)
i was joking la... that was picture of real ksyrium. truth is, not many people have actually seen or found pictures of fake mavics.
*
user posted image

anyways.. always boleh masuk tech-mavic.com to check check the old pictures of the wheels... although friggin small...login with mavic-com and dealer as username and password..

QUOTE(stacker99 @ Dec 11 2012, 02:00 PM)
That is scary...any drawback on the fakes?
Less reliable? Or heavier/lighter?
If equivalent, may consider if can save some $....

I knowla, I'm a stingy b******.....

Added on December 11, 2012, 2:01 pmOh...sorry...antenna broken and CPU slow...Heeee....

it'll be less of everything except weight, maybe?

actually coming to think of it...weight might be a good gauge.. it should not be more than 20 or 30 grams off the manufacturer claimed weight........

QUOTE(mrjgx @ Dec 11 2012, 02:31 PM)
For 2.5k, top up a bit you can get fulcrum racing zero..it's a bomb proof wheel tongue.gif

Carbon hubs and ceramic bearing bro
*
define bomb proof... your definition, mine or SDU?

QUOTE(stacker99 @ Dec 11 2012, 04:03 PM)
Ya...Fulcrum has better Hubs but out of budget ler...
Haven't add rim tape, tube & Tyres...all add up can exceed 3K...

The one I'm eying on, everything in hopefully can get it at 2k or less..
*
RM2k for everything is really wishful thinking isn't it... rim tapes not gonna cost much (RM20 per pair) and so does tubes (RM24 - RM30 max)... cheapest tires gonna set you back RM150 per pair (if you like maxxis, RM110 will get you rollin)... all in all should only be a bit over RM200 extra on top of the wheel...

best not to risk things like this... wheels and handlebars are not something to play a fool with... if a wheel collapses or fake carbon bars break.. you are just going along for an un-controled ride into the hospital....

it is going to suck badly saving a few bucks..

most performance wheels do, but the difference is in the spoke head, it will not sit properly if the head is different

Thanks for recommending the site..
Decided to stick with Ksyrium Elite...
Offer still looks better on lelong as it comes with Michelin Pro 3 light and accepts return if not satisfy. If found to be fake, I believe can return.

i looked it up.. don't think you can nego further.. but grab it quick if you want... it's on an auction and there is only 3 days+ left...

i also don't think you can return if not satisfy, only for major defects on arrival.. that is just what lelong automatically puts for a bit of buyer protection but takes shit long to resolve if there is ever a dispute... as long as your money is in his hands... you can dispute all you want and there is a possibility of not getting your $$$ back, he will only ruin his reputation as a seller..

Okie...wish me luck then...
Btw, how often do u guys change your chain?
I just got the chain measurement gauge & found my chain has elongated more than 1% after 6 mth of use. Is this normal?

Planning to change it to KMC titanium chain. Is it any good?
Anyone used it before?

what chain gauge is that? usually chain gauge like pro gold tells by how far it drops in between the links... if it goes all the way in, time to change... if it is still halfway, it is just a warning to tell you it's coming... that simple...

anything with lightweight chains is a reduction in durabilty in exchange for performance... you can pick 1 of either two... you weigh your options...

Yes...it's the same type of drop in gauge. It says on the gauge if the gauge drop in fully, it's more than 1% elongated.

I think I will go for durability..there's not much weight difference on the super light version. Looking at it, they should be same material only that they cut some material out from center of each link to make it lighter. Thus reducing rigidity and durability compare to the standard chain.
