Merida 2013 Scultura Comp 903 vs Scott 2012 CR1 Comp

Similar specs, Merida slightly more expensive due to it being a 2013 bike and better package with bibs shorts, jerseys and everything but still higher than the 2012 package by a couple of hundred bucks.

I'm just wondering if u all would consider going for the Merida just because of this? And I understand that Merida has a Shimano R501 rims and Scott is using its factory aero rims, would that bump up the value?

Thanks

*basket I'm going from an alloy to a carbon :/

Being a newbie, I'd never expect myself to grab a carbon bike. Nevertheless! I'm happy

The pictures shown are painful sad.gif

Decided to test ma bike last night, a 1km short ride with ma normal shorts.

Then this morning wore the bib, saddle sore sad.gif but still managed to hit a 2xKPH average for 9km according to my micoach GPS and with sports shoes tongue.gif

Stupid me for forgetting my shoes, left it in the shop yesterday.

Hello LRRH, nice choice for choosing Scott Cr1 comp. Good price point considering it is one of the sponsors for UCI team bike for 2012 and '13.
What is the total weight of the bike including pedal, did you get your Lbs to weight it,just for the know?
I didn't weight mine when I first bought it,so I wouldn't know what's my bike's actual weight is. Recently, I weight mine with my bathroom digital scale, it shows 7.8 kg +- 200 grams including lights and tube cage. Not a weight weenies myself.

Thanks.... smile.gif I never weigh wor. You are a CR1 Comp owner as well?

Just had my first bike ride with my Merida Race Lite 900. The problem was, I cant cycle awesomely cuz when i go out of my house area, its the highway. Which is frigging ass scary with super fast car overtaking me. Any help on what i should do? My only choice is to cycle super early in the morning. Which interupts my sleep sad.gif

Scary right? I was on clipless shoes somemore, lol. When approaching roundabout, what I was thinking was only to unclip my shoes and cars around you at 6pm are never the friendliest to cyclists.

I was only riding around Kota Kemuning, just to get used to the feeling of the gear shifting, bike feel as well as the unclipping part of my shoes.

Had a decent pace with miCoach, for the first time:

Avg speed: 21kph
Distance: 16km
Time: 45 mins

not forgetting the time taken to pick myself up. Fell down from the bike after attempting to unclip my left foot. Now brake lever and handlebar wrap scratched and koyak-ed. cry.gif luckily I did not get the 105 or Ultegra tongue.gif

However, the feeling was thumbup.gif

Need to push myself and train myself further before the OCBC cycling event next year.

Aim to avg around: 25kph

You bought those spec? Veli useful and must have. Now you can confidently eyeing some chicks with confident without being notice.. liao. But bad for health if you loose your concentration on unclipping your shoe. Good luck with your progress.

Where can I find plain coloured jerseys or pants?

And in order to lube my chain, do I need to grease it or something?

I wonder if it is safe to ride without any front lights in this OCBC weekend sad.gif

I don't really cycle night or early morning before sunrise so I don't really wanna spend a couple of hundred on something which I will only use once
