if the legs are screaming, then the gradient must be going up. at that point, just scream back "shut up legs!" and continue pedalling.....

as you said before, roads can get lost.
as malay sayings "malu bertanya sesat jalan".

worst case...abort and take bus home la..not like you are in hutan without water and food like that...

usually police will just sound you off and ask you to get out from the road as quickly as possible... out of their sight and area they control lar in other words...

if worry too much.. might as well sit at home...

as you say... be adventurous... part of the excitement of touring..you have to expect the unexpected.. how you know that even if police dun kacau... you might get roads that you planned to use flooded or land slide... you still need detour...those are times you either depend on luck of help from people in the area...

sifu vin_ann told me about this thread in LYN and after trying to go through most of it to gather some insight to the world of cylcing, I've finally decided to do a post. There's some awesome information here with a good balance of BS, videos, memes, images and photos of chicks rclxms.gif

I recently got myself a road bike and boy road bikes has improved so much since the last time I rode one. The last time I rode one the gear levers were still on the down tube and it was a hand-me down.

Imagine my astonishment when changing the gears involves moving the whole brake lever (shimano) hahahaha jakun
Was rather wobbly on the bike at first and took me a while to get accustomed to riding on the hoods instead of the drops but I feel like I have better control over the brakes on the drop compared to the hoods.

After 1/2 hour on the bike my ass hurts like hell. Was wearing normal shorts. Is that suppose to be happening or it's just my ass not used to the harder seat ? Will getting a bike shorts with padding help ?

Despite that I managed to do 10-12 km on Saturday and 12 km on Sunday. One thing for sure is i'm wayyyyy out of shape and had to stop often coz my calves were cramping up but more so my ass was hurting like hell... plus not confident on drinking water and riding at the same time ... LOL

Died on a couple of hills and had to do the walk of shame ... hahahaha going downhill was fun though rclxms.gif ...

Overall I guess body has to get used to the position and the ass has to break in ?? if there's such a thing hmm.gif LOL

Hope don't get poisoned too much here whistling.gif

yes, you have a big dream of "pusing-pusing" malaysia, yet you have not cycle any single KM...

cycle, cycle from your home to nearby place for 4 hours for a start...

from 4 hours increase slowly to 6 hours... 8 hours...

build up ur endurance... route on how to "pusing-pusing" Malaysia can buy the touring book written by local female cyclist (forget her name n her book name)

it's basically dummy for touring book. go find the book and read....

not to get your hopes high... nothing ever helps... it just lessens the un-comfort by a bit...

if you sit on a bed of nails 24 x 7... i think that helps to improve faster...

btw, since everyone shares their weekend ride....

im returned to cycling after 2 weeks absent.... was cycled to Genting Perez from batu 14.

Initially thought / planned to Titi with another member, then i change my plan just to reach at top of Perez and return. it's was good 55km ride.

after that, i went G. Nuang for hike and run.... another good trail run for 1 hour to reach at waterfalls and return to starting point in 45mins...

next round: Going to try to Titi and back, then Nuang again!
