somehow i notice not only me have this problem. That time drex mention is something about the soloniod. The tek tek tek part. is it there all the time or sometimes is there sometimes is not?
it might be tik tik tik sound that only mine got problem.

Hi SAGA owner, I thinking to get a proton saga FLX 1.6 Se this month. Before i made the booking can anyone/new owner share your experience with me?

I have test drive the car and i heard the sound from the CVT when pickup, do anyone also feel the same?

I need more advise like problems with the 1.6 cvt model , what to check when getting the car.

There are no issues unique to the FLX SE. the drumbrake sounds, rattlings are present in all FLX, but nothing that hurts drivability or safety.

Not every FLX, depends on your luck. some also get exhaust buzzing after 2k RPM, most dont, though.

Both are known issues to Proton and fixable.

besides those you mentioned is the CVT grearbox will bring any problems? the sound of the cvt during pickup is normal? hmm.gif

CVT malfunctions are far and few in between...there are a few members with problematic CVT but mosy are problem free.

The CVT is manufactured by a reputable Belgium manufacturer who also set up a division here wih their staff to handle Protons CVT problems.

The CVT whine during acceleration is normal.

how can we know our FLX need to reflash or not?
will proton SC inform their customer?
on need customer ask the SC?

or Proton SC only doing reflash is owner service at CoSE, or only when customer asking about it?

end of this Nov @ early Dec, my FLX will going for 5k km service.

Really frust after change the brake pump about 1 week got sound again,

Check at shop said the pump still ok,

What the problem also i dont know,

Now got sound at engine like the tepet bunyi2,

Can adjust the engine tepet? Mmm...

The brake sound really make me sad la....

When car stationary, when want to start drive brake sikit2 got sound nyi..nyiit,nyyyiiittt,

After that a long run,brake2 no sound,

The prob occur when i start kereta jalan sikit break kuat or slow,the bunyi will keluar,

Malu when park at kedai makan and break bunyi2

Today Drove 80km/h on straight with 5th gear, when approach a junction, throttle release, turn left @ around 60km/h. The left corner is slightly up hill, so speed drop to 50km/h. So i press clutch and shift to 3rd gear. Suddenly i lost the power steering, quick look @ the meter the engine stall.

Same speed, same corner, same thing happen again. sleep.gif I feel this is dangerous as i lost power steering suddenly @ corner, aiyo... doh.gif

Re tappets, Gagas use hydraulic valve lifters...so tappet clearances are auto/hydraulically adjusted.
No manual adjustment is possible.
Change of EO or use of additives might help improve efficiency and thereby reduce the sound...?

Worst scenario is need to change the lifters themselves... sweat.gif
