i just flashed my linksys WRT54GL (previously with DD-WRT) to tomato
looks cool
anyway, there's a section in DD-WRT to set P2P in administration section but i couldn't find that option in tomato
will my torrent affect my surfing & gaming speed with tomato default settings on?

last time when i used DD-WRT, it's fine because i can limit
now, i can feel my gaming speed is affected a little

Could someone help me how to cure WHR-G54S hanging while P2P after quite some times?
Mine on v23sp2 micro usually hangs up around 12hrs.
mini & std are even worst, hanging just few hrs.

Already change setting like Max Ports = 4096 & TCP/UDP Timeout = 90sec

The same setting have been used on WRT54GSv6 but dont have any problem with hangs up (the longest uptime is almost 1 month while P2P 24/7) :/

Also tried hard reset than reflash, but the problem still there....

Sometimes, it is not all about whether you set the setting of the max part to the max or not but it is more to whether the router is capable to handle so many connections at one time. My guess here is that your torrent is creating so many connections that the router's RAM memory tends to reduce until it hangs.

My torrent only limited to 200 max connection, sometimes up to 280 max if running emule simutaniously, never more than 300.

The weird thing is the same exact setting used on WRT54GSv6, but no hangs up.....

Just wandering if WHR-G54S == WHR-G54S-AP ?
The box says AP but the router itself dont :/

Maybe i have a bad karma with Buffalo routers :/

i bet your router's memory dried up after about 2000 connections... there is really not much memory left in 16MB based router after flash with dd-wrt. TCP/UDP timeout = 90sec will only increase the router's load hence the hanged-up problem. try using Max port = 1800 TCP/UDP timeout = 120sec

Yes, each router has different amount of RAM memory, I guess you are just over-stressing the memory of your router thus it hangs.

if you guys have time and passion, try using dd-wrt x86 based firmware. Then, you will know how much potential our streamyx line can go... brows.gif

hey guys, i need help.

just installed Tomato and i need to down prioritize my idiotic housemate's PC.

Let's say, his network ip is 192.168.1.104. I want to down prioritize THAT particular ip only. Meaning, i want every single data requested or sent from that IP down prioritized. Other PCs of course, left unaltered. How does i achieve that? Seems to be Tomato's QoS does not support internal network regulation.

I've had enough of the idiot downloading everyday and even when i have bigger shits to do. Too tired at shouting at him everytime. Waste me and my other housemate's time. I'd just want to cripple his line and that is all.

Hmmm, doesnt quite work for the first sentence. It doesnt not have any specific settings to down prioritize individual ips.

lol, i didnt want to use full restriction. It's pointless. We did something even more straight forward, e.g. pulling out his plug, but shittily it's futile. Finally we came to the agreement that if he wants to download then it's fine. Precisely why we chose to down prioritize every single connection of his computer since he's the only moron who downloads everyday. sad.gif

Im using DD-WRT v24 RC-6 micro. I put imesh at blocked services, but my friend still enjoy downloading musics from imesh continuously. QoS oso seems like not functioning..

Anyone care to explain..? icon_question.gif
