WRT54G v5 can use the DD-WRT Micro version.

You can get the GL version from Mika. It's cheaper than market price, and offers the same warranty.

The WRT300N is not a PRE-N router, but an 802.11n draft router.

PRE-N was introduced by AIRGO, and only used by a few like Belkin and Linksys.

The WRT300N has 2 versions, the american (ver 1) which is blue and is based on a broadcom 802.11n draft chipset. The european version (ver 2) of the WRT300N has a black top cover and is based on a atheros 802.11n draft chip set.

Sveasoft had a port for the WRT300N. And I believe openwrt is running on it too. I have not seen a DD-WRT port yet.

but which model do you recon which is compatible with ddwrt(i like it) but mainly used with wireless?

i do suggest WRT54GL as this model is most common in the market now.

erm...a newbie here, well i'd read thru lots of the forum threads regarding the linksys wrt54g, and apparently the only available wrt54g's in LYP are all v7 and cant be flashed with dd-wrt, correct me if i am wrong, where can i still find wrt54gl's? instead of looking for mika, is there really no more shops selling this model in LYP? I've been seaching around but all i can find is the basic wrt54g, i dun wanna get it coz it cant be flashed with a 3rd party firmware..

why won't you get it from Mika?

He offers a legit receipt (from a well established shop), and original retail warranty.

It's so much cheaper than getting stuffs from LYP.

Where do you stay ? I know there is this shop in The Curve that sells only Linksys products.

I went to Lowyat today, saw WRT54GL is selling at RM240 ~ RM280 (exstock). I manage to grab the WRT300N v1 at RM560 (last unit). Now testing the WRT300N v1 with DD-WRT v24beta.

Is it possible to access the modem configuration page without changing the cable network.. I mean, thru the router itself ?

It can be determined by looking at the serial number. For more information, you can read this.

does anyone know how to reroute all connection tru proxy server (wkkay's proxy to be accurate) in the dd-wrt itselft, i know it is possible.

I don't want to manually add proxy in IE or firefox for all my wireless client because it will take time, and it will bypassed my chillispot setting.

edited : damn...i burned out one of my linksys power adaptor. Now try using universal power adaptor at 12v 1A. Donno it is safe or not

i am using dd-wrt v23 sp2 mini version....
now i am at router mode with automatic configuration DCHP for dailing...

actually i need to set the port forwarding, DNS and so on stuff to the linksys router or my adsl modem...?

azmihamzah, The Linksys power adaptor input is 230v only. It burned caused by the higher Voltage Input by the TNB usually 250v +/- . Solution is either get the 3rd party power adapter or an AVR. I burned 2 (warranty 1 to 1 swap) of the Linksys power adapter in less than 5 mins. I bought the OEM power adapter from giant supermarket for < RM20.

Those should be set in your router because your modem is in bridged mode already.
