snowmei, your problem solved already? yeah i can see the motive to go for commercial firmware after brainslayer start selling the special firmwares sometimes middle of last year. and that why there isn't any new features added to dd-wrt for broadcom based firmware.

Not really power cycle it to reconnect actually. You can disconnect and connect in the router configuration page though.

Well, the SpeedBooster won't be much help actually unless you have a Linksys wireless adaptor with SpeedBooster technology. Also, it is only useful if you are going to transfer large files over your LAN network. If you are just using it for internet usage, our ISP's are normally offering 1 to 2mbps at max for now and even a 11mbps wireless LAN speed is more than enough.

So this, dd-wrt.v23_mini_generic.bin, is the one I should download?

Well the mini version caters for users who don't need those extra functions. See this table for the comparison of different versions.

make your modem aztech as brigde mode first
then,
Open a web browser like internet explorer or mozilla firefox. Enter the ip address of your router in the address bar of your browser. By default the ip address should be set to 192.168.1.1.

You should see a box prompting you for your username and password. Enter your username and password now. By default the username is blank, and the password is admin. Click the Ok button to log in to your router.
then go to quick setup choose pppoe with llc or vc,
insert the username, password,
vci,vpi,
enable NAT

save settings..
it should be ok .
if you want to enable the security, click the Security link near the top of the page.
and adjust the setingss

Ok, this is getting a tiny bit technical...

I called up Linksys M'sia hotline and they are kind enough to guide me through some changes but they didnt explain what were they...

I was told to change:
RTS Threshold = 2304
Fragmentation Threshold = 2304
Beacon Interval = 50

What are these and what do they do? Lastly, when I look at my WUSB54GS Linksys software, I get a reading of

Noise Level -90 to -93 dbm
Signal Strength -38 to -44 dbm

Are these regular values you guys are also getting? Or I should move my router elsewhere, etc? Kindly clarify. Thanks.
