QUOTE(osxchd @ Apr 18 2006, 12:51 PM) i hav a WBR2-G54, but scare after flash will brick my router... not supported yet... but Prasys adviced me to do it... but really scare hehe http://wrt-wiki.bsr-clan.de/index.php?titl...C_WLA-G54%2C_... The brick risk is real. Are you willing to solder a JTAG header and debrick it ? . If your CFE get's damaged you have to go this way.

QUOTE(prasys @ May 24 2006, 09:45 AM) JTAG Cables are pretty expensive http://wiki.openwrt.org/JTAG_CablesThere is a guide on how-to create your own JTAG Cable [for the braves] As for the rest of us , we have eBay http://www.ebay.com.my/viItem?ItemId=9729561030The cable itself is around RM 40-50 Building your own JTAG cable is the easy part. Soldering a JTAG header on the WRT board is the difficult part. And none of the Linksys WRT54G/S models have an JTAG header, so what is the use of buying a JTAG cable if you lack the skills to solder the header ?

QUOTE(prasys @ Jun 8 2006, 10:23 AM) You have two choices , your first choice is of course............Get a JTAG Cable [that itself costs you around RM 200-300 [assuming you're getting from eBay] or buy yourself a WRT54GS v4 [I know , those guys placed a higher price tag , because you its pretty much rare and sooner or later it will be replaced by WRT54GS v5] I already made a remark about this. A JTAG cable will get you nowhere if you can't solder the header on the board. And if you can do that, you also have the skill to make your own JTAG cable. I made my own for 15 RM The big trouble is the header which needs to be soldered properly on both sides of the board. I had to do it 3 times to get it all working. And while you at it, better solder the serial header too then.

QUOTE(freako @ Jan 1 2007, 11:09 PM) guys guys.. is anyone on the new linksys pre-N router? WRT300N with ddwrt? how does it run? i might be getting one. not so sure yet. can any1 pass me some feedback? The WRT300N is not a PRE-N router, but an 802.11n draft router. PRE-N was introduced by AIRGO, and only used by a few like Belkin and Linksys. The WRT300N has 2 versions, the american (ver 1) which is blue and is based on a broadcom 802.11n draft chipset. The european version (ver 2) of the WRT300N has a black top cover and is based on a atheros 802.11n draft chip set. Sveasoft had a port for the WRT300N. And I believe openwrt is running on it too. I have not seen a DD-WRT port yet.
