Hello everyone, I'm not sure if i'm posting at the right thread. But what's the environment and salary condition for CAD and Piping Engineers in Oil and Gas Industry?
*
CAD and Piping engineer ? is that for one Position or two?

CAD Engineer as in Design Engineer wich the scope of work is to design using all softwares available..

and aLso, there's Piping Engineer who covers all bout piping..

rite? sory if im wrong..

and for the answer, normally design engineer get much lower than piping engineer...

Piping eng. = 2.5k - 3.0k (fresh graduate in Local company)

Design eng. = 2.0k - 2.5k....

correct me if im wrong..
tq..

Thanks dduck for your reply, yes... i'm referring to two positions. As from my knowledge, piping engineer should be of higher salary more than 3K (but i'm not sure, that's why i'm seeking some opinion from those that involved in these position)

Well again it depends on which company you are working for. For piping engineer who works in consultant, most probably you can get 2.4k for a fresh grad(ranhill worley) and the most is 2.7k (technip). Its a different story for operators though.

Hi Hafizola, thank you very much for your valuable info. I always thought Piping engineer got a better salary. Because i'm a design engineer myself and thought of switching into the Oil and Gas industry.

Hey.

I've come across this forum when searching for jobs on the oil/gas industry.

I've a 3 years degree in computer science/microprocessors/basic-electronic and about 2 years of professional experience in software programming.

I was wondering how much would I win in a oil company working as a engineer with my qualifications or as a roustabout. I'm searching essentially for a change of pace and more life experience so I'm willing to do about anything, as long as the pay is good of course. tongue.gif

I'm using Solidworks 2009 for my design..i design out the whole machine (perhaps you can visit my company webpage www.spiralpipe.com to see some of my 3D modeling..
My job scoopes can be say is simple but tough..I just converting 2D (existing design) to 3D..but not all the parts are correct..so i need to measure the existing machine (located outside msia)...anyway, I'm happy with my job now!! tongue.gif
