all phone will have complaint regardless iphone samsung htc or sony or nokia...
poor battery life, poor signal, laggy phone, i guess all this is normal and how we perceive it.. 1)poor battery life - we using smart phone nowadays to do more than what a phone will do (sms, call)... better graphics and speed as this drain battery faster.... my current 4s are draining my battery like shit as well as i need to carry portable charger along with me daily n sometime charge twice a day.. 2)poor signal - i dunno about other countries...but lately i guess all the telco company are doing upgrading works so the coverage are little poorer... 3) lag - my current iphone lag almost everyday especially when slide to answer call....certain apps bounce out to home screen during viewing or playing games... i agreed iphone is for the brand and samsung for the features...no doubt i like the apple brand but i will go with note 2 or s3 this time.. about resell value, last time i used think tht apple have better resell value as it never drop price like current 4s from 2199 to 1799... when 4s out, 4 changes to 8gb with cheaper price... but now 5 are out, 4s drop it price and 4 remain here...apple are now selling 3 model of phone, 3 model of ipad in order to compete with wide range of samsung.. so resell value i guess is pretty much competitive now...n wont be by far margin.. however this is all my opinion.. |

QUOTE(RViN @ Oct 25 2012, 08:38 AM) Well the iPhone 4s is a few months newer and it did release at a much higher price. It was about 500-700 more than the note 1. if you said so, then TS shouldn't compare note 2 with iPhone 5 since the the price is totally different in your opinion. So in the end its about the same. That said being honest, do you even care about resale value? Do you keep buying and reselling phones? As for the OS discussion, I am not sure what innovation people are talking about but if you compare the iPhone 3G with the latest and greatest iPhone 5, put it side by side. I think you can probably count with your fingers the differences between the two. Hardware and software wise. The simplistic wall of icons used to be awesome well due to it's simplicity when screens were smaller, people were less techy and hardware was limited. In today's world its nothing great. FYI, i just sold my 4s because i wanted to change to iPhone 5. i used 10months and take to maxis warranty exchange a new one and sold at 2.2k last month. if i could't sell at a high price, why don't i? Added on October 25, 2012, 3:34 pm QUOTE(adrian23 @ Oct 25 2012, 09:24 AM) bro 4s where can sell at 1500 now....any buyer...i would like to sell it at this price.... please go to garage sales area and make a research i would like ot sell it at 1400 n let u earn the 100.. brand new only at 1799 apple store.....with plan are even cheaper n cheaper... QUOTE(Mamapapamsia @ Oct 25 2012, 09:37 AM) U dont get is bro. With an iphone 4s i can sell at rm1500 or even 1600 and still thr will be people willing to buy. you're definitely right !With a samsung or htc android, you sell higher than normal, ppl wont even bother to look and will squeeze you dry. Definately will take iphone5 over note2. Ios apps is just superb. Its simple and easyto use. Whats the point of customise this and that in android ? I dont get it. And with allthat quadcore stuff, at the end of the day u use it to facebook, check messages and surf the web. Whats the pointu need so many cores ? How often u play those graphic intense games on ur phone? U wanna play games, get a laptop lah.. And furthermore, most of the apps on android are utter rubbish. Yes they have alot of apps, but i can say 90% of them are rubbish apps . The i5 might have less firepower, but heck it does everything perfectly. And i can demand more when i wanna sell it off later. My htc one x dropped rm600 in a few months! Ridicolous! And androids have the tendency to get laggier and laggier as time pass by. When new, sure smooth like jellybean, but after a while will become laggy as with all androids. Even my bros s3 oso lagging now... Look at the HD screen in note 2, s3 etc. They have HD screen, but what for? the apps are all supporting from the lowest qualify devices to the highest qualify devices. the apps don't even support HD what for having the HD? just for slide to unlock in HD view? Most of the iPhone users complain and feel regret after they sell their iPhone to use Samsung and HTC android. Android system is ugly and complicated till I dont know where to change the wifi network since my home got 2 wifi routers.
Android system is really not convenience. I even cant sign out my Gmail account in someone android tablets. Finally, the only way to do is reset the tablets to factory settings. This post has been edited by junclj: Oct 26 2012, 05:35 AM |

Finally, the only way to do is reset the tablets to factory settings. i guess android is not a complicated system just that they have widgets and more freedom of customization while iphone ios are more straight forward and just apps and icon on the main and every pages... u can't sign out gmail account maybe people can just saying tht u dunno how to use.... however iphone and samsung for me are 2 of the best...and i would say iphone 5 let me down...if u got read the previous reply of me...u know why.....havent been an android user yet but soon be one and give myself a chance to try on it.....s3 or note 2.. |

Everyone say new iPhone doesn't have new features while Samsung is adding new features to new phone. Does you guys realise that apple actually adding new features via the OS updates while android because not all model can upgrade to the latest OS that's why they need new features on their phones. iOS 6 didn't give u new features? Those Facebook & twitter intergration, passbook, new maps, Siri, iBook, photo sharing and so on. There 200 new features there. Try to google and find the list of new features on iOS 6.Some might not new to android but it's still new to apple user. And what's best 3GS onwards can enjoy the new features. Maybe not fully but at least more than half. We should feel glad of this. Imagine what if apple made some new features to new iPhone and not new iOS 6 just like Siri. Ppl will make noise and this is what happen to android or Samsung. Those S3 or note 2 features does the previous version got it?
Added on October 26, 2012, 11:27 amI does agree that iPhone 5, & iPad are very dissapointing in terms of cosmetic. And I can predict even more ppl will jump ship if iPhone 5s is still the same design, longer or wider maybe. But I can also predict that those jump ship will come back soon due to they don't like android OS. This post has been edited by noobie123: Oct 26 2012, 11:27 AM |

To me, it's not iPhone 5 vs GN2. It's just iOS vs Android. No point paying too much attention to the specs as you won't get GN2 with iOS or iPhone 5 with Android.
Besides, you can't say GN2's 1.6Ghz Quad Core is 3.2x faster than iPhone 5's 1.0Ghz Dual Core, because it doesn't work in that way. Same goes to 2GB ram vs 1GB ram; 3100mAh vs 1418 mAh. We have to know that GN2 has 27% higher resolution as compared to iPhone 5, so speaking in a dumb manner, got more things to calculate. So if you wanna compare in respect of specs, please do flex it first. But AFAIK, you can't just flex it like you're doing mathematics. Hey! It's iOS and Android, they can have different way of processing, coding and whatnot. Notice that there's a topic bout resale value going on. Again, it's unfair to compare the resale value of both directly as they have different starting RRP. ===For Reference Purpose === Samsung Galaxy Note N7000 Release Date: Late October 2011 (First) RRP during launch: RM2299 2nd hand value: RM1200 in average (Just did a rough check in garage sales) Depreciation per year: RM1099 / 47.80% iPhone 4S 32GB Release Date: October 2011 (First, not in Malaysia) RRP during launch: RM2499 2nd hand value: RM1450 in average Depreciation per year: RM1049 / 41.98% Of course there are much more factors that would affect the 2nd hand value, i.e. age of item, condition etc. But based on that 3 y.o. kid calculation I got there, unless RM50 is material for you, else no point talking about resale value. Moreover, iPhone 5 and GN2, although both are smartphones, have different target audience. Just like MINI Cooper and Camry, both can get you from point A to B, but you just can't say which is better or what, because they are not meant to be for the same target market. In a nutshell, it's just iOS vs Android. Pick what you like. End of story. *Not trying to say which is better, just want to say that both are different and you can't compare it. Try to make a research on Samsung and you will know what's happening. All type of devices have different feedback. How do you look at the phone is based on how your friends and family influence you. If you think apple iOS is not good enough, just switch to android and take a try on it !This post has been edited by XOXOGenN: Oct 27 2012, 12:25 AM |
