Yes Samsung and other Android devices are slow in terms of receiving updates because Google decides to phrase them by region. But it does not apply to the Nexus range. They are always the first to get the updates. Samsung has as Nexus, it's called the Galaxy Nexus.

Quality wise, it's different. The S3 may look fragile, I noticed the iPhones are not as durable as it claims to be. Every brand of phones has their flaws, no phone is perfect, even Vertu. Samsung's way of marketing is different from Apple, Samsung caters from mid-low to high end budget consumers, while Apple has only one products, which is to cater high end consumers (judging from the pricing). So we cannot put into the picture that Samsung produce cheap and low spec phones and does not have frequent updates to upgrade the OS. You have to take consideration with the product range. Apple has only 1 phone on the market, whenever it gets an update, all the phones will receive it. But mind you, not all the features are supported on all the phones.

Yea. iPhone only 1 series a year. Samsung got s series, note series, tab series etc etc. all keep launching new products within few months.

If you want to compare like this, the. How bout the launching of iPad 2 and iPad 3 and iPhone 1-5 ? Apple first time release their new products less than a year. So do Samsung ?

It's a start of something right? Apple is following the trend of Samsung already. As I've mentioned, Samsung caters to a wide group of buyers, Apple only focused on one. That is why they release more products than Apple. Apple is always known for releasing new products at least once a year, why the sudden change to half a year with the iPad 4? Sounds silly no?

Samsung has a different approach, they attack every corner of consumers' home, providing a wide product range. From refrigerators, smartphones, tablets, tv, computers, music players, microwaves you name it...

While Apple on the other hand, follows a narrow approach. Providing only smartphones, tablets, music players and computers.

IMO, they have to release products sooner than previously to be able to compete with Samsung. No doubt their product's are getting "boring". IDK

Getting boring if u rely on pirate apps. That is it. U can see note 2 thread, wat they are disscusing? Casing, how to root, how to setting bla...bla...bla....nothing or less discussing how to fully utilise the feature, apps etc. That is wat we call boring

Do take note and don't follow blindly. You can be quick to judge but turned a blind eye to reality. I do not own any Android device mind you, never owned any Samsung nor Android before, and all my devices are iOS. But sometimes you have to admit that Apple screwed up big time on the launch of the iPad 4 and it does not make them any different to Samsung anymore in terms of one-year-per-device statement.

Time to wake up and don't be a sucker for product. Fanboy level at its very best.

Well bro... There is something might realise... U still get updates for ipad 4 and also ipad 3 still functional even thou they release the new ipad 4.... Just fully utilized the ipad 3 then when its time to upgrade.... For sure with ipad 5... Its more worth it then folloq trend and upgrade...

As i said apple are upgrading all their mobile products to lightning connector.... so its maybe to early for ipad 4 i undrstand but fpr sure the next upgrade would be worth to upgrade for a7 or a7x processor....

Bout samsung im still a bit no no situation from their products... Apple still better in terms of quality apps and also update os on time.... Rather then samsung.... Note might be powerful... But when time for key lime pie will sure become like original note.. Waiting for almost 6 months just for JB...

No doubt Apple's products are at highest grade but after all, it is still a phone. I do agree with the part that Apple is upgrading their current ports to Lightning, but you need to understand that it cannot be changed or revamped immediately because they are 90% of the iDevices out there are using the 30pin connector. If they want to replace them, it will take time, instead of just phrasing them out within 6 months. And for the iPad case, do you think iPad 3 users will automatically buy the iPad 4 when it launches here? No. Look at the iPad thread yourself.

And Apple's mobile devices are called iDevices. Shorter term.

No doubt iOS has the strongest ecosystem still, I believe that it still has many things needed to be corrected. iOS6, still awaiting for it's update, 6.0.1 because the 6.0 is horrible. Then again, Apple maps, no complains. They need time to perfect it, so we give them time.

I always loved Apple products. But the level of fanboyism in this thread is rather irritating. Fighting factless facts and closed minded, somewhat disgrace really.

I also feel iphone is boring now, note2 is stil interesting for me at the moment, me iphone4, my bro iphone 4s, my wife waiting for iphone5 first(using same ip4 as my) , but she may consider jumpship after see i own note2 for a week

But she complaint note2 display isnt that nice compare to iphone, that is what we all expected

Different ppl got different use , i love to use note2 for my job, i can record down , take pic and do note as i like, i dont use phone to play games especially iphone which will bye bye after 4 hour heavy gaming. So it may good for someone but not everyone, note2 give me fresh feeling with the s pen. My iphone4 become my secondary phone by now hehe.

And yes note2 doesnt have retina display that sad, if it included then would be perfect

I would say jellybean really improved from the previous ICS

Let see next generation iphone will take my heart to jump back to iphone 5s/6.

i own an ip4 and if i were to get a new phone would likely consider note2 or oneX+.. just that the screen being too big.. S2 size would be perfect..

i still like ios as its simple n no frills..

ps: just state your opinion, dont generalize or defend from people's point of view.. bigger screen then note2, smooth simple then ios.. simple as..

I can ping my server at anytime. and i can run multitask apps at anytime.And its free.No need to root.

Anyway for those really want simple and easy.use ios. U can choose ur os target. Not to device. But bear in mind samsung apps / firmware and os really suck . So slow.

S pen is nothing new. It is prehistoric concept where touch screen is used with a stylus. After which, apple changed the world with finger friendly touch screen.

Multi window? Is just a gimmick to seduce nerds. Practically, it is better to use copy and paste for faster and error free.
