im trying to build my own quadrotor. what are the website that sell the parts to build it? Tx, rx, props, etc
i have a question on the tx and rx though, a tx has 10 channels but the rx has only 6 channels, how to fully utilize all the channels on the tx. im planning to use another channel for the POV cam and move the angle of the cam up and down with servo. |

anyone want a 6s1p battery? i tried to purchase a 4s1p battery from alibaba but the lousy supplier sent me a 6s1p battery instead
who need it can offer as i cant use 6s1p for my gimbal, i havent use it before, only plugged it to check the capacity and i store it in room temperature with lipo guard bag and the thing is the stupid seller go stick the wrong label on the battery, so i dont know what is the actual mAh, but initially i ordered 4s1p 8000mAh, below is the picture This post has been edited by amduser: Dec 17 2014, 07:20 PM |

planning on getting a DJI phantom 2 or DJI phantom to start off my quad hobby.
not too sure if the DJI phantom 2 has many advantages over the normal phantom so inputs from u guys would be great oh and if i buy the phantom 2 without gimbal, is it possible to attach it in the future. budgets rather limited for now lol |

What's a good photo/video drone to start off with ?
Noticed shashinki has the Walkera TALI H500 but DJI Inspire 1 seems to be able to do indoor flight very well ? |

QUOTE(corad @ Dec 26 2014, 08:49 AM) What's a good photo/video drone to start off with ? this is a little subjective. multirotors behave the same way in flight, that is inherently stable. hence, both are pretty much the same. things to consider:Noticed shashinki has the Walkera TALI H500 but DJI Inspire 1 seems to be able to do indoor flight very well ? 1. size: for indoors, you'll probably need something smaller. if walkera still follows its original naming scheme, H500 is 500 sized. so not really an indoor friendly flier. 2. parts: pick the one with parts that are easily available. cheaper parts is also a plus. 3. rotors: more rotors means more lift. whether you need this or not, depends on you. 4. controls: pick the one with a control layout that's more comfortable to you. this includes flight and camera controls. eg, a mode 2 tx is more comfortable if the camera controls are more on the left side. so, you can fiddle with the camera with your left hand and still maintain cyclic with your right. so in the end, your money, your choice. Have played around with the DJI Phanthom before, but unsure of how easy it is to get DJI parts in M'sia ? Was planing on buying from their website unless anyone knows a good retailer here ? |

QUOTE(QiW @ Dec 26 2014, 11:58 AM) Thanks ! had a glance at the dji section of their website, but looks like only Phanthom II while everything else is parts ? Would anyone suggest ordering directly from DJI ? I don't mind waiting 1-2 weeks if it saves me some $$ and a better selection. |

QUOTE(corad @ Dec 26 2014, 08:49 AM) What's a good photo/video drone to start off with ? what about UDI U818A? Noticed shashinki has the Walkera TALI H500 but DJI Inspire 1 seems to be able to do indoor flight very well ? I just received a unit of UDI U818A from Lazada. Just tried 1 time flying, video & picture are acceptable to me, no complaints for RM169 BTW, i'm newbie in these RC flying crafts. |

QUOTE(scoop7 @ Dec 26 2014, 04:16 PM) what about UDI U818A? That's interesting, how easy is it to fly ? Any good as a trainer drone ? I just received a unit of UDI U818A from Lazada. Just tried 1 time flying, video & picture are acceptable to me, no complaints for RM169 BTW, i'm newbie in these RC flying crafts. Price is very tempting but stated flight time (6-9 minutes) is too short for video/photo shots I'm hoping to get. |

QUOTE(corad @ Dec 26 2014, 04:32 PM) That's interesting, how easy is it to fly ? Any good as a trainer drone ? i think it's easy to handle.. i have zero experience with flying craft before this. Was trying it at carporch but didn't go to open space coz it's raining.Price is very tempting but stated flight time (6-9 minutes) is too short for video/photo shots I'm hoping to get. i can't really compare with other models since U818A is my first drone. i think it flies quite good speed, again I'm a newbie so please do forgive me |

QUOTE(scoop7 @ Dec 26 2014, 04:16 PM) what about UDI U818A? just to note, that U818A is basically a toy flier with a camera, like many others. it works as an entry level flier. it's no where near the quality/function of the Walkera TALI H500 or DJI Inspire 1. you get what you pay for. electronics on these cheap fliers can be shady some time. some are quite good though(as in "could be worse").I just received a unit of UDI U818A from Lazada. Just tried 1 time flying, video & picture are acceptable to me, no complaints for RM169 BTW, i'm newbie in these RC flying crafts. plus, the "Before RM 500.00 , You save 66%", yeah right lazada This post has been edited by zeroglyph: Dec 26 2014, 05:05 PM |

QUOTE(zeroglyph @ Dec 26 2014, 05:01 PM) On amazon it's USD99-ish (not sure if its FPV or standard cam since the reviews are mixed up) but still RM130-ish is pretty sweet on Lazada. Going to look at some more reviews tommorow but otherwise this is likely to be my 1st drone too ! Has anyone imported their own DJI drones/parts in before ? Is it just as straight forward as ordering from the website and paying the shipping fee ? Worried if there are any custom restrictions ... |

why DJI in the 1st place ??
many other options that are cheaper .. DJI is considered to be a premier brand and premier price to go with .. lol eg. phantom 2 is capable of estimated 15 mins flight time depending what u put on board ... but the battery costs rm400+ each .. lol |

QUOTE(QiW @ Dec 27 2014, 04:23 AM) why DJI in the 1st place ?? According to some reviews, DJI is the "Apple" of drones, everything should work right out of the box ... everytime. Also aware of the DJI Flip of Death but seems like they've fixed that so many other options that are cheaper .. DJI is considered to be a premier brand and premier price to go with .. lol eg. phantom 2 is capable of estimated 15 mins flight time depending what u put on board ... but the battery costs rm400+ each .. lol Don't mind paying a premium since I'm more into the photography part over flying. |
