In Singapore, the iPhone 5 will be available without contract for a suggested retail price of S$948 (US$772) for the 16GB model, S$1,088 (US$886) for the 32GB model and S$1,238 (US$1,008) for the 64GB model.

Take note Nano Sim is not supported @ Malaysia for the moment.

For those who are using iPhone 5 Black, does the coating come off easily when you experience minor scratches?

Some first batch of iPhone 5 users are seeing 'Purple Haze' in pictures when exposed to sunlight. Apparently, what you are seeing is an artifact initiated by lens flare. This iphone is a teeny camera with a teeny lens. There is nothing wrong with it. But that's why serious photographers are lugging around heavy cameras with heavy lenses. They perform better.

It is due to worker's brawl, the company said that the dispute escalated from a personal disagreement between workers. Foxconn spread their production around the plant which means some component of the iPhone 5 may be affected. However, Wu said that Taiyuan plant is not an iPhone assembly plant. Only stopped for one day.

wifi also got problem?

is already v2 and we are just talking and talking but ip is still not here yet..i guess the demand is strong and it would be a hit here once it's launched. Expect temporarily out of stock for the first few days.....

loading/installing apps on wifi is slow sometimes but speedtest shows full speed, kinda annoying

apps arent full screen yet.. especially whatsapp kinda hard to type with one hand coz of the black bars that resizes it to the 3.5" UI.

After a week.....so far no problem lor......muahahahahahaha

Guys, where to buy iphone 5 case in KL now? Please give some pointers, and where to get screen protector as well.

Manage to cut my hotlink simcard. It was a Normal Size Sim, cut into Micro-Sim to use on my iPhone 4 and 4S before, and now become a Nano-Sim (4FF). No need to use what sandpaper etc etc to make it thinner.

Tested by getting Signal and roaming at Singapore.

Hehe talk is easy mate. Feel free to call all mobile shop in sg (eg far east plaza).. Most of them selling 32gb at $1420 which is equivalent to around rm3550 Add in petrol n toll, autopass credit, your time and energy, i can say it's more worth to buy it here.

Or else just wait till apple officially sells it here.

Apple store in SG? They have been 'owned' by those suppliers..

And those SG suppliers are the one who cost the price here illogical.

what u said is true if and only Apple Store/Reseller has many units in stock..

the problem is, they don't. because everytime Apple restock, those greedy but smart SG suppliers will buy as many as they can so that they can control market price..

According to my fren that's working in maxis development team.. She said they just got the iPhone from US.. Testing.. And when is it launching,, no clue for now..

So I'm expecting it will be a delay.. Plus I have a feeling that this round i5 will sell slightly higher price instead of 2199.. Just my feelings..

Testing unit.. She said normally wait for all the core countries enough supplies then only will distribute to 3rd countries.

That may require a month or 2 maybe.. Not so sure for now.. As i5 is short of supply as of now..

Malaysia faster launch ~

Looks like iphone 5 is prone to scratch and scuff make sure to apply protection before using it....

I think the scratches is depends on the person who using iPhone 5

so after leaving iphone(3G) for 3 years to android(SGS 3 now) and now try iphone 5, this is what i notice

not much changed from UI. same old style and easily used to it once it was activated.less hassle but nothing new for me to explore.
a tiny dent near the power button from out of the box(i checked the edges once i take it out from the box)
quality is better than my sgs 3 but i don't have scratches on my sgs 3 thanks to the plastic material. hope iphone able to do the same too
apps store a bit similar to google play store but i still prefer previous interface
hate the letterbox especially in youtube!so annoying
notification seems to be improved but still behind android especially with the notification led
tried to move photos and music and is just pain the arse.itunes just wasting my time.
need to setup an exchange account to move contacts from google mail is not convenient too
camera is about the same as my sgs3 but it's a bit brighter in sgs 3 thanks to auto-contrast option
wifi signal drop 1 bar if i hold/grip the top of the phone
battery life is not bad.drop 10% in overnight compare to 8% from my sgs3

you sounds not happy with my opinion but well,it's expected from this forum. no point for me to spend $800 then post a bias opinion

there are many good things from this iphone 5 but is just i get used to android environment that similar with windows "easyness"(drag and drop,no itunes needed,etc)

The files in android is quite messy. Somehow i having a hard time to look for the exact folders to drag drop the songs or videos. Maybe that's just me. Sometimes i rather transfer those files into my ipad through iTunes and use my iPad instead.

yea quite expected as u can see this is iphone section lol!!

but u shuld understand why they make it such a way that file transferring is such a pain in the s.
ios is famous for its security plus smoothness as well as its easy to learn user friendly interface.
which i think android do encounter lagness depending on situations and android cases has more than ios cases if comparing the lagginess.

Hi, to add on
1. Flickering - Dashing lines appear randomly on screen. Very random thus it cant really be checked during verification
2. Press hard on the lcd to see any ghost effect


so far my opinion on telco set and apple store set
Telco
- verification and activation on the spot thus you can check certain of the above
- exchange immediately

Apple Store set.
- you have to walk in to Apple Service Centre for all the defects. Take note here that defect do not include Yellow tint, and scuff/scratch
- but you can safely exchange now as no refurbished unit available until 2-3 weeks after.

it's more to personal preference. i prefer drag and drop method and easier to clean the files via file manager

i know what's going on and the closeness with iOS so thats why i go for android and try iphone again after 3 years. it's a great phone and performance is great. simple yet powerful but i able to do more from my sgs 3. there was a massive lag in SGS1 but not in SGS 2 and 3 with full of widgets in homescreen.
