I am just trying to est your time spend on grinding... I understand its a guide.

if U spend 40sec extracting and your grind and all just 30 secs or so to get 14-20gm of coffee thats even faster. ~60 rotation to do 16gm in below video is 30-40secs.  U doing very fast when U est ~1min to do them all.

did U get the blind tumbler? no stock here but some store sell them but prices all inflated! those burrs are expensive! over $200. maybe in the future I find myself getting one.. not near.. maybe 3-5yrs.
http://hg-one.com/store/

The blind tumbler comes with it.. The titanium burrs took 80-100 revolutions to complete 18g at first.. But now it's fully seasoned, I only take around 30-40 revolutions to complete. Maybe around 27 secs at most.. Drop the grind into the PF, tamp and extract. I also got the PF cradle from the guys..

Those burrs.. Based on your consumption of only a few shots daily.. Will definitely last for years. If you get the ones with titanium coat, even longer lol. We're looking at around 15 years maybe?

I didn't make the 40 sec shot cuz I've only gotten a chance to try one made with a Slayer.. I want a traditional lever machine to do that.. Sigh.. Need to save up for it..

Hello coffee lover,

I'm looking for Baratza Encore here in Malaysia, anyone knows where can I get it locally? I know i can easily find it in eBay, but i've confirmed that the power rating is not following out standard local power input. I'm afraid I need to get some clearence from Suruhanjaya Tenaga/Sirim and import tax that I have to pay. Thus, anyone who had experienced importing grinder from overseas specifically Baratza Encore, please chime in and share your experienced.

Thanks

I got myself an used baratza maestro plus. It was replaced by the Encore. Anyway it costs me around 440 plus shipment. But havent use it because i need to get the step down transformer. So just be prepare to get that too if you get it from the U.S. I'll post more once i actually using it. I could have not honored the ebay deal but that would be bad for me. YOLO

Thanks for your feedback, appreciate that. The price you mentioned above is in RM or USD? If RM440+shipping is kindda cheap. Any plan to sell it? LOL

Thanks man, I've reached out to them via email, hope to hear back from them soon.

Anyway, can someone recommend a good grinder that can grind for French Press/Aeropress/Drip at a very reasonable price? Looking at anything less than 1k. Looking for an option other than Encore and Nivona Cafegrano. Any comments on Gaggia MM Steel and La Pavoni Kube Mill KBM?

Thanks

Dear Sifus,

I wonder if anyone buy anything from www.idrinkcoffee.com
I was looking to buy something on promotion and its definately cheaper than in Malaysia with the shipping and stuff.
But what i am afraid of is that when it reaches malaysia and encounter problem with Malaysia Kastam.
Has anyone encounter any problem buying machine or product from overseas?

I am looking at the Breville Barista Express Espresso Machine 870XL and from the website plus shipping its around RM2.1k.

Thanks and regards.

again, someone iirc mel5582 had pointed out the voltage difference and the need of transformer.
any issues getting local service centers to fix is also a problem.
especially the site u pointed out is operating out of Canada.

Australia u wouldn't have to care about transformer etc

read mel's post. I don't think there will be a problem so long u pay tax! sales tax of 10% of charge and there is a duty rate too. u have to read the customs site, the information presented is way too confusing. maybe best for u to call.

Yup, NS owns VA.. I think Dankoff will be carrying in the Black Eagle.. Roughly about 70-80k ringgit. The weight based extraction is still being tweaked, so the Black Eagles they have now, doesn't have this feature yet.

Thanks man for the feedback. I do have porlex for my FP and Aeropress, and i love it. But as per my previous post, porlex is an excellent choice for grinding a small batch of coffee, but not for multiple cups.

Thanks

I have a Porlex, for espresso grind, it's 2-3 clicks from zero and roughly takes 5 minutes to grind 20g of coffee. That is if you're working out hard while grinding lol. Of course, the courser the grind is, the faster it'll complete..

Hi all,

Where exactly do you find the milk frother in IKEA. I hunted high and low and ended up asking the store assistant on the exact location. She tells me it's out of stock.

But when I checked online, they still have 100+ in stock sleep.gif
