Can't say more. Grinder is the most important coffee making tools. Thus, I'm holding off my purchase until can buy good grinder. For time being, I'll stick with manual grinder.
Anyone going for caffa2014 this weekend? |

QUOTE(locozz03 @ Oct 7 2014, 08:39 PM) Thanks for your feedback, appreciate that. The price you mentioned above is in RM or USD? If RM440+shipping is kindda cheap. Any plan to sell it? LOL Got myself a hario slim rm125 per piece and grinds are consistant. Sufficient as i only do 1 cup in the morning and 1 cup back from work. Thanks man, I've reached out to them via email, hope to hear back from them soon. Anyway, can someone recommend a good grinder that can grind for French Press/Aeropress/Drip at a very reasonable price? Looking at anything less than 1k. Looking for an option other than Encore and Nivona Cafegrano. Any comments on Gaggia MM Steel and La Pavoni Kube Mill KBM? Thanks |

QUOTE(Wonka @ Jan 26 2015, 04:45 PM) I read that Breville BES870 online saying that its a good model for home barista. Anyone using this encountering any problems? Am planning to get this for my home Currently using this machine. This is my first machine. Thus, unable to compare with other. The like, Grinder and brewer in one machine. Small thus, suitable for small kitchen. Pressure gauge. Can know whether tamp and grind are consistent. All in one. Tamper and milk pitcher were given together. Good customer service, they sent technician to my home to have a look at my machine. Don't like Initially the grinder don't grind fine enough for espresso (at least on my unit) . Can't get the pressure gauge to the correct pressure. Done some adjustment and now the grind can choke the machine Low steam pressure, longer frothing time. however good for beginner learning to froth milk The Not so sure 54mm instead of 58mm Portafilter hard to find alternative tamper and portafilter For me, the machine is perfect for me who enjoy good Cup of coffee every morning. Been making a minimum of 2 cups a day for the past 2 months. However, I'm still unable to produce decent latte art (don't have the skill yet). QUOTE(geney @ Mar 1 2015, 11:25 AM) Just wanted to add about choice of milk with those more economic machines. Personally I like farm fresh due to its taste and affordability. Farmhouse is overrated. Processes in Australia, frozen, shipped and process again in Malaysia. Tried many brands and F**mHouse proved to be the best to froth and taste more natural. Gr**field comes 2nd. Not so fresh in my opinion. This post has been edited by wshazi: Mar 1 2015, 08:29 PM |

I'm considering home roasting too.
However, as I found out, getting green bean in Malaysia is a problem. U need AP to import them. Please let me know if you know any green bean supplier here. As for machine, I've shortlisted 2 machine. 1 is hottop which u can direct purchase from Taiwan. Another 1 is 1kg roaster made by Indonesian. The hottop is powered by electric and using heating elements. The Indonesian is using gas burner. Pricing, both roaster costing almost the same. I won't put my money on aillio just yet. Waiting for the review. |

Saw u using breville and gaggia grinders. Hows the different between these two grinders? Is it worth it to upgrade to gaggia from breville? I'm using merdeka coffee bean too. I think they are the cheapest around. Taste is acceptable for my morning and afternoon latte. |

QUOTE(johnnywynne @ Mar 30 2015, 02:16 PM) Hi Guys and Gals, Breville Malaysia not bringing in the machine. U need to purchase it from overseas. Im looking to try and buy the Breville Oracle BES980XL. Does anyone know where I can get or order from? https://youtu.be/GeTHoUOT7Ho Thanks ya :-) Why not purchase the double boiler and a good grinder instead of the Oracle? |

QUOTE(Keng @ Jun 10 2015, 10:39 PM) Rm40 can get a lot. Antipodean (rm26) like wshazi mentioned, it's among the cheapest fresh roasted beans out there. Maybe can try coffee subscription too. Currently, i'm subscribing to auresso.com.myOthers are like plan b (rm70/500gm) or espressolab (rm40) Renew every 3 months at RM120. Every month they will deliver 250gram beans of your choice. This month i've choose Jazz by Rubra. Value for money. Cheaper than local roaster. [attachmentid=4481545] |

QUOTE(Tikietic @ Jun 15 2015, 05:05 PM) ehh.. antipodean's merdeka beans are also sourced from indon.. does the premium you paid for plan b, worth it ah? Its rm70 for 500 grams i.e. Rm35 for 250 grams.iMHO its worth it, the blend of indo beans has more body and earthy taste which is suitable for espresso. |
