Sorry if this is off-topic but I was wondering :
Asus gonna bring in Nexus7 into Malaysia tomorrow,
Is there the possibility that Google might open up Google books, movies, magazine, etc.. as well?
You know, without having to use VPN and stuff.

Do you guys think this is a possibility?

One thing I was wondering is, starting tomorrow we will be able to purchase N7? How many retailers are there? You think got enough stock for all walk in customers?

mtxx, great story there. What about tab 7.7 experience, if you have any.

My hands are so bloody itchy to get another tab.

We're quite used to seeing most gadgets at the RM1k-RM2k range costing a cool RM50-RM100 more when arriving at our shores. I believe most of us are anticipating to see the 16GB Nexus 7 at a great value of RM800 to RM850 officially.

I don't see it as reasonable if Asus Malaysia expecting me to shell out a whopping RM200++ premium for the 16GB Nexus 7, just because Asus Malaysia deem RM999 still passable when compared with the competition offerings.

It'll be disappointing to see Asus Malaysia take advantage of the highly sought after Nexus 7, narrowing its value in favour of profit margins.

Just go to the Asus store at MidValley early tomorrow. I have cancelled my pre-order. Judging from the various comments about the price being too high at RM999, I am sure I won't be the only one cancelling too. Bro chewlee also not going ahead with his pre-order already. Maybe you wanna take over his?

man....this was asked so many times.....

google sell this as cost price. they plan make profit when consumer buy lots of stuff from their play store.

in country where play store not fully open, where got profit. so they never plan sell here.
asus bring in because they want profit. 249usd is cost price, so the additional increase is profit for asus.

be reasonable, at price less than 1k, you only can get rubbish china brand tablet.
this is nexus device, will get android update asap as it is released.
quad core tablet, 1280x800 resolution screen (big big noticeable improvement over 1024x600)

if you buy from garage sales, sellers there order from US at 245usd, add shipping cost, and their own profit, also sell around 1k. people want to ear money la

so do you mean Google and Asus earn nothing by selling 249 usd in US for the device itself? rclxub.gif
