Sup guys.
Been wondering, whats the metal flat plate think called at the muffler tip, silencer?
Does that thing really help reduce noise?
I got my tanabe H-medalion used, so it doesnt come w/ that plate.
Im getting old now and my exhaust sound can be heard from miles away when cruising on PLUS.

so i believe its indeed silencer
but keyword google didnt bring me to performance test on such thing.
how does it fares in terms of noise and performance when travelling at high rpm with this thing on vs off?

i heard we can customize this. so what material preferable?
my other option is to dump this medalion and go for twin loop or anything similar, which the offset spending will be higher

*my car is an old D16 engine, so cruising at 110kmh the rpm sits at 3.2krpm

after reading 28 pages, alot of knowledge i have gain, but i'm still new in car modify
Would like to modify my car, apart from cosmetic, i would like to add
for performance. below are what in my mind, i hope all sifu will lend their hand and knowledge for me

Car: Waja 1.6 Automatic Transmission - 2003 (4G18)



1.) Change ori extractor to better 4-2-1 extractor (Choice in mind f0r powerzone or Zenden-not sure which one to choose though)
2.) Remove Cat - Con
3.) Chg air filter to open-pod type. (Apexi Dual Funnel / K&N)
4.) Ram Pipe for Air Filter, looking for heat resistant one - (Any idea on brand and price?)
5.) Stock Piping, only to change muffler to Tanabe S-Flow (For better sound, not too loud)-anybody know the price for this muffler?

Also plan to change stock pulley to Adjustable Cam Pully (branded) WAJA=RM220

please bro give any suggestion and comment regarding this mod, really appreciate this.

keep the ori air filter set-up. u can use a hi-flow replacement filter.

keep the cam pulley standard. no point changing if the camshaft is standard.

use a lightened crank pulley, it's good for auto trans. cars.

i hv a question here.. if take those cheap 4-2-1 extractor (lets say around RM200++) if drive long distance will melt? i heard some say that it might heat up real fast and the whole extractor turn red color. laugh.gif

it might turn red on turbocharged cars, but it won't melt.........worst case is that it might rust......

waiheng sunway.. same road as n1, kakimotor, ksp power etc etc.. at the end near the traffic light there..

anyways, if u wanna change fullset, then say u wan change fullset standard.. if just change 1 or 2 parts, cheaper. ask their recomendation on what to change to your liking.

i dun think ur kancil will sound like that even u change to after market exhaust bro.... even kancil l2 or l5 dun sound like that...

have to depend on ur engine capacity as well...

example u will nvr get a subaru/rx-7/gt-r exhaust grumbling sound on a wira or etc...
just my imo.. nod.gif
