What is Folding@Home?Folding@Home is a distributed computing project by the Pande Group with the Chemistry Department of Stanford University. Their goal is to study and understand protein folding, protein misfolding, protein aggregation and how it affects the protein biochemical function. When protein misfold, it is believed to results in many well-known diseases such as Alzheimer's, Mad Cow (BSE) and Parkinson's just to name a few well know diseases. Using wide distributed computing power, they are able to use computational method to simulate the folding of protein and to study it, which will no doubt take a much longer time without the use of widescale computing power.•Courtesy team c9@folding• ![]() |
