im torn between this car and honda jazz

both is really really nice car

want hybrid = Prius C
interior = jazz hybrid

Jazz hybrid has no spare tyre. Tyre puncture repair kit is not good enough as the only way to identify puncture spots is to take out the tyre and dip the whole tyre into water to look for bubbles coming out from the puncture spots. I have had encountered a few flat tyre occasions (own cars and also friends' cars) which required me to change them. The main reason I didn't get a jazz hybrid was because I can't accept a car without a spare tyre.

i think both interior quite comparable actually.

Jazz has no spare tyre. You need to repair yourself using the repair kit. If your tyre has a big cut, don't think you can repair.

Go malfreemaps to download the latest garmin map, replace it with the cGPSmapper version, also the garmin custom POI give AES camera location, the only thing I don't like the AES POI is Garmin won't give sound alert.

Anyone remove the bumper or see technician remove it before? Is it difficult? Im thinking of changing the horn, way too soft....

Today i input aes alert in my garmin nuvi 50LM.. and test with my prius.. i realize that my prius speed is xtra 7kmj compare to my garmin nuvi..ie.. my speed is 80kmj my nuvi show 74kmj.. i believe thaf my garmin nuvi speed is more accurate...

Anyone test it..?

and dont forget basiccaly Prius C have 5 rims all five is aluminium rims .. not those small spare tyre ..

Before ging in the service, check the number of clicks on your hand brake lever (about 7 clicks). If they adjusted it (will be less clicks), there is a possibility they adjusted too much and cause the rear brake to have higher friction. It will lead to poorer FC and lack of power.

usually they may not do the rear brake lever adjustment at 1k km service but just in case they do.

Happen to my wife's PC. Overtaking a kapcai going at 50kph and pedal to metal only saw the PC gaining speed very slowly and took about 8 secs to overtake the slow kapcai. After we complained to the SC, adjusted the lever and now I think back to normal.

I took this notice and check my rear wheel drums also and had my mech adjust to loosen up a little. Glad I did it as the car do run better. Hope to pick up more for Fuel economy.

I think I know how you feel like now. Actually a couple of weeks back, I was trying very hard to make up my mind between Honda and Toyota hybrid. I dun really like Jazz but I was eyeing on the new 2012 Civic Hybrid, an extra of +20K different from Prius C and less 20k from Prius. It price was between the two Prius.

Then I start googling around and do some research between Honda and Toyota hybrid system. Man!!! Honda hybrid technology had nothing to compare with Toyota hybrid and it took 13 years for them to reach their milestone to sold 1 million units world wide. But Toyota itself in 1 year sold 1 million hybrid units world wide. Now you tell me who is better. To me is like semi-auto wash machine(honda) and a fully auto wash machine (toyota). So which one you wanted, a semi auto or a fully auto machine (I just giving as example).

But still it depend on the buyer, if he want style and look good than honda (he don't need to buy a hybrid car, if you do a bit more research on their hybrid system). There was a statement from one of the media cons and pros on honda hybrid..."you can still drive it when the hybrid battery is die". So I wonder, if I agree to that statement then as well get a none hybrid car(since their FC is not as good as toyota hybrid). As I did my searching, I found people in State mention their 1st generation Prius battery are still working. So why do we worry so much about the battery giving way. There is a few guys in US repairing those battery as well. Normally after 8~10 years or longer (depend how you use the car), one or two of the cell will give way. So they just replace the fault one which cost them very cheap(you can find it in youtube for more details).

Anyway I'm just sharing my thoughts and finding. Hopefully its help you to decide which one you really wanted(I had make mine decision...its Prius C which I booked a day ago, if Prius driver seat has more roomy, I would had taken it).

the only research i didnt do is the hybrid technology thing

but for me im looking towards the feel i get from driving the car and the things i get for the price i pay

so far i find the prius is actually quite noisy when revving compared to jazz

jazz also feels more responsive. but i like the look of prius better lol.

but one thing that surprises me is that this car doesnt have auto wiper and auto lights

With 5k discount, PC is now same price as Jazz. And dude, we don't rev PC often. You never try driving 140km/h on the wet road, you will be amazed how stable and silent PC is. I don't encourage you to speed here.

The petrol engine at Jazz is on ALL THE TIME, of course you don't hear the big difference like PC. PC petrol engine doesn't run all the time, and its 1.5L, can give in power anytime you want. Therefore it is Honda hybrid average is 18km/h while PC is average 22km/h. With 4 km difference, PC can roughly go extra 120km per full tank pump.

So you got extra 1200km after 10 pumps, and how many times you pump petrol in a year? You tell me.

Well, my friend I think you have say the magic word "the feel". The most important is you must feel good when you sit on the driver seat. I call it comfortable, coz we are the one will be driving it around for the next few years.

About the Jazz responsive....I think you really have to check out their hybrid technology. After than only you will understand why Honda hybrid car are most responsive (just like Civic hybrid as well).

For me, I pick prius is purely becoz of it hybrid technology for FC. Currently I am driving an exora, so I dun feel the different with the pick up on both (when I do the test drive on prius).

u have to know why u want a hybrid car at first ? bcos of latest technology ? better FC ?

when the SA told me needed more than 3 months on waiting list for PC i do think of jazz hybrid but just for 5 minutes hihi ..

im looking into this car cos its techy, fuel saving and look nice.

and its within my budget. thats all. same goes to jazz.

the rest would be depending on how i feel when i drive the car.

anyways, would like to ask, any of u hear wind noise at 100kmh?

Yes, I agree wif you, bro!!!! Latest technology. Full tank can go to Melaka to and fro without any problem or from Penang to JB all the way(theoretically).
