Hi to all Prius C owners,

Just got a few questions for you guys. Before I go and book one.

1) Can it handler less then half a feet height of flood water on the road? coz I concern about the location of the battery (maybe this a stupid question)...
2) Travel on highway, does it have the wobble feeling like kancil when a heavy lorry pass by?
3) The foot space at the back row seat is it comfortable for the passengers to travel outstation?
4) How's the power? slow pick up after traffic light stop?
5) I saw a lots of review mention that the back row seat is suitable for 2 person only, coz the middle seat is not really comfortable due to the spacious, is that true?

Appreciate in advance for any answer from the prius C owners. Thank you!!!!

Wankf,
To summarise all your questions, drop by the nearest toyota showroom for a quick test drive. Since now is the monsoon season, make sure you come during heavy rain and you test yourself la whether the water will go into the cabin...imho, i can assure you that Prius C fits in between a group of fiesta, mazda 3, swift and another group of vw polo and peugeot 308.

You wont go wrong with Prius C...trust me coming from someone who has driven the like of Alfa, VW and Mercedes.

Happy hunting!

Thanks for the reply, Wan.

Actually I did visit for a test drive on a sunny day a couple days back. As usual, everything happen so fast and before I notice anything the test was over. It was very tempting to book it as there is a promotion starting this month until end of the year, as the SA told me that's a RM3k off for Prius C and RM2k off for Prius. Anyway next weekend I will be going back for another appointment to test drive the Prius, maybe at the same time I try to ask the SA for another test drive on the Prius C again. The only thing is holding me back is the trade in for my current car is very low, so I am trying to maths out the cost of this hybrid car down-payment and instalment. I still can't make up my mind to go for this or the Prius. And in between this two prices, there are others hybrid car which is not a full hybrid. I don't want to regret getting the wrong one later on. Any thought guys??

Currently I don't see much of the PC on the road at klang valley, did saw one last week on NPE in the morning but haven't seen one after then. Maybe everyone are still waiting for their unit to arrive. Cheers!!!

Saw a white PC on Old Klang Road this afternoon. It was at the traffic light near the police station. There was a Myvi and a Jazz in line with it at the traffic light stop. Actually it is not small at all comparing with the other two car(exterior got a better sporty look). I think it look better compare with the others..... icon_rolleyes.gif

Although PC seem smaller, But actually PC is wider then my prev SAGA BLM. PC not complain, only the poor interior  sad.gif

If those display dashboard gauges are more to the driver side instead of in the middle, I think it will be more better. When you are driving is hard to look at those dashboard gauges in the middle and the same time have our eyes on the road. But I think Toyota did this to make them look different from others.

I like those Civic dashboard gauges, they look pretty cool. If we can modify those into the PC, how nice would it be or get some other stuffs like hologram display of the speedometer. drool.gif

I recently google around and summaries some pros and cons comments from US & Europe on PC.

Pros: thumbup.gif

Outstanding fuel economy
Affordable pricing
Easy to drive and park
Snakes through traffic and parks as easy as a Seaway
Standard Bluetooth and USB port
Hatchback convenience; surprisingly serviceable back seat.
Seat comfort is good for a small car.
At trim level 3 and above an electronic lover's playground.
Voice commands for audio/nav system.
USB plug for iPod, smartphone, or even just a thumb drive full of MP3s.
Fun to drive, Spiritedly, Roomy for its size
Stellar fuel economy; favourable pricing; roomy interior; fairly sporty for a hybrid.

Cons: sad.gif

Awkward interior styling
Engine is pushed to its limits on steep hills
Easily intimidated by pick-ups and SUVs
Underpowered engine
Tight second row
Seats lack lumbar adjustment.
Visors need extenders.
Audio/nav display panel hard to read in direct sun.
No voice command to switch to USB mode.
Could use a rear anti sway bar.
Large bumps are not well absorbed by the suspension.
Offset instrument cluster
Low speed brake pedal feel
Ride can be stiff over some roads; poor interior materials quality; noticeable wind noise; slow acceleration.
Acceleration might get on the highway can be scary at times.

There was also a comment on the wheel size, saying that it does not have any impact to the road holding. Is the true?

I always thought that having a wider wheel will get a better road holding coz of its heavier. Any thought? hmm.gif

u should not judge by the milleage and the price .. u will never know how the owner treat this car for the last 8000km .. maybe the car been drive thru flood? maybe been modified ? or maybe car accessories shop use as demo car?
Bro you must be right. Thinking about it, the PC launch on this year Feb. By the time he got it might be 2~3 months later. Let say on May he got his PC, so to say in 5 months time he drove 8000 km. 1600 km per month, 53.5 km travelling on the road per day. Well, still ok...I travel around 46 km per day at klang valley to work. rolleyes.gif

Anyway, folks over there at Penang will check it over before buying it. I don't think ppl there are so stupid to buy it straight way. Don't you agree, bro? tongue.gif

Last few days saw quite a number of PC on the road. That a good sign. So to say the volume is increasing day by day. Toyota should form a club for prius family. Just like they did it for Unser last time. I still miss my lovely Unser. They send a key chain to us as a member and had many events as well. thumbup.gif

Like to have your opinions on the PC color. Which 2 colors would you choice for your PC? hmm.gif

1) Lime White Pearl
2) Silver Metallic
3) Black Mica
4) Citrus Orange Mica Metallic
5) Super Red V
6) Aqua Mica Metallic
7) Blue Metallic

For me, I would like to go for 1) Lime White Pearl and 2) Silver Metallic.

But I think Lime White Pearl and Black Mica looks cool tongue.gif

Same here too. After 2nd service fc drop. Did the technician reset ur ECU ?

Best wait till 5k setting and then have a look at it.

And maybe can bring to different service centre,

Segambut and Kepong is not bad as i normally service there and no complaint.

thanks again. before they did adjustment, it is 4-5 clicks. mine 1 click seems abit over.....my pc acceleration is ok, but just the respond is slow. i remember i drove once in the highway, i press the pedal for about 1-2 second then my car pickup faster. may be this is how the pc protect overwhelming and damage the systems.

when i drive 90, i can still get 3xkm/l indicator, but not always, i think it have to wait for the gear to be in the high gear then only the motor sufficient power. just like a manual car, when we drive 5th gear, less pedal we need to press.

talk about gear, i heard from my friend, driving on down hill should never put yr gear into n, i till damage yr gearbox badly.
*
The Toyota SA told me that PC only running on 1 gear technology. That why we don't feel the change of gears like the others car. Here you are talking about the changing gears, so I am confuse and wondering who is right? hmm.gif Anyone can enlighten me on this!!! Thank you.....

Guys, I just booked the PC this morning after a test drive on Prius and Prius C. I don't like the Prius driver space, very limited space but the rest are ok. As for Prius C, driver space are ok but back row seat are not.

Well, finally I make the decision on PC. Coz most of the time I will be using the car to work and I don't carry anyone. So why do I need space for the back row seat. Important is that the driver must be comfortable which that mean me!!!! drool.gif

SA told me I will get mine in 3 weeks time. Coz there is a stock coming in around that time, worst will be beginning of December. I have no hurry of getting it. whistling.gif Sliver will be faster and white will be slower...told by my SA. Now he want me to book for the car number first......so fast? shocking.gif

The PC pickup is faster then the Prius.....lighter I think. Road holding was good but can't spin the wheel at full acceleration on the gas pedal at traffic light start up. sweat.gif Rest was ok....enjoy the ride. rclxm9.gif Its more on elderly adult driving.... rolleyes.gif

Pay RM1k for booking and left RM94k (discount RM2k) to go......trade in my exora 2009 for RM49k and rest loan from bank....

now have to suffer for bank loan another 5 yrs doh.gif

A few questions on driving the PC:-

1) I notice that at the rear of the PC there are 2 blind spot (one is on the left and one on the right). How you guys manage those? side mirror? shocking.gif

2) Anyone happen to drift your PC in the rain before? tongue.gif

3) Have any PC owner run out of gas/fuel so far with the fuel indicator flashing on single line? hmm.gif

Today I had confirm that the PC does not come with a bluetooth, what ever the person who post earlier about having the bluetooth come along with his PC without upgrading the player is a lie. The picture he posted must be photoshop. There is no bluetooth button on the same player he posted which I saw on the showroom or test drive unit. I did ask the SA and confirm there is no such thing for the PC sold by Toyota. What a joker doh.gif

My PC came with a bluetooth radio (the one without GPS). I think the later batch came with it. The test drive units are those of the older batches, which came with those radios exactly shown in the official PC website. If you look carefully the photo I upload "Exterior vs interior colour comparison", you will notice the radio is different from the one shown in the official website.

So to say that the SA don't even know what that comes along with PC. Anyway bluetooth is not that important for me. I hardy use it on my exora(not consistent working). I had my wireless ear piece for my hp. Once I get mine, I will know its there or not. Thanks guys for the info icon_rolleyes.gif
