QUOTE(yhoong12 @ Oct 9 2012, 03:42 PM) 2.5K for freshies? it only happen in malaysia. your hometown is far? i bet is north side, how much do you think is worth? >2.5K? Yupe north side, you're correct. Around 2k+ with some benefits that can help me save at least 500SGD per month (rough estimation), something like that. I guess it will depends on what's available by the time I start to job hunt, but for my case I probably should get some experience in Malaysia first right? Especially since I'm not the type that can save a whole lot of my salary, I like to enjoy my food This post has been edited by AIAF: Oct 9 2012, 04:31 PM

That's assuming if I hit the jackpot and get a job with that pay, I have much higher chance of getting something close to that range in Malaysia. Which is why I'm wondering if it's possible for a fresh grad like me to get 2k+ over there. If my pay is low and I end up not saving much and going back hometown once a year I don't think I will find it worthy.

Seem like you value family time quite high, higher than normal, it is not wise for you to come Singapore, even if you come singapore work with >2.5K, but if you going back home to quite frequently, there is still no saving for you.

I'm actually quite use to being away from already, but being in Singapore is a little different. If >2.5k I'll sure take it See how thing goes in a few more months, maybe I'll be posting in this thread again. Thanks for the guidance

If you start in KL, your network won't be very much useful if you wanna come SG later.

QUOTE(deodorant @ Oct 10 2012, 11:00 AM) Well, the networks I built in KL were the reason why I was able to come to SG in the first place True in my case as well. But I have to say the network that I built since then in SG far exceeds the weight of the network I could have built if I remained in KL. Internally within the company, simply many more regional, global people and roles go through SG than KL. Externally, simply meet more people in bigger jobs on the street.
