QUOTE(yhoong12 @ Sep 13 2012, 04:58 PM) Actually does anyone think this make sense? like if dish washer already 3K, how bout chef? manager? waiter? Some fresh grad getting more than that for lesser hours and easier jobs. You have more PhD in sg than those who willing to take up this demanding jobs. They face two crunch time every day plus super crunch time during weekend. Compare to much easier cleaner job and it's salary, 3k is reasonable.

QUOTE(WyjSwmW @ Sep 16 2012, 11:29 PM) SG la, last time my fren invested in RWS SG, then profit about $120K... If you are talking about the share counter, their price drop alot. If you are talking about their gambling counter, you should also mentioned how many people took their own live at the end of their investment. How much have you invested in RWS so far?

I use gothere apps while in SG. Good for taking public transport and driving. I can check the parking rate as well.

QUOTE(Shinichi @ Sep 25 2012, 10:05 PM) Thanks, I installed and try using it. It seems more like "green book" added on GPS. Both have it's own advantage. I tested with my usual route, gothere give a shorter route with maps detail for driver such as individual house number, car park and bus stop info on the same page. The other apps has a lot more business info, pic etc but too much transition to a new page. I will use both, gothere while I drive, SG street for business info and traffic cam.

QUOTE(yhoong12 @ Sep 26 2012, 11:59 AM) It is not free right? SG street good to find route? i heard that there is some sort of livecam can show you the condition of woodlands checkpoint, any idea? The SG street apps is free. Before this, I always have a page in safari on the causeway traffic camera from onemotoring.com. With this SG street, you touch on the camera icon and it shows all major road pic.

QUOTE(tkhoo @ Oct 1 2012, 11:28 AM) Great.....News $4,000 per child that was high than Malaysia.......Malaysia only RM3000/ child. Everyday eat nasi lemak lah Spouse Relief is $2000 or $4000? Thanks again. How many wife? $2000/wife, IF your wife does not earn more than S$4000/per year , that's ~RM833/month/wife . On paper, SG only grant the rights for one wife, but Malaysia max 4 wifes. So you can try to request more relief if you have more wife, update us on the outcome yah!

QUOTE(tkhoo @ Oct 1 2012, 12:03 PM) Oh ok...Not understand on the "IF your wife does not earn more than S$4000/per year " part. Thanks. k, today I am in good mood. Extrac from IRAS " You may claim the spouse relief if: - Your spouse was living with or supported by you and does not have annual income (e.g.salary and tax exempt income such as bank interest, dividend and pension) exceeding $4,000 in the previous year. For handicapped spouse relief, the income threshold condition of $4,000 does not apply. "

QUOTE(deodorant @ Oct 1 2012, 04:50 PM) Oh wow, just wow. Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day; show him how to catch fish, and you feed him for a lifetime. I know but there are people who never learn the same way. I show him the link then he read, copy, paste and ask for explaination. He did put in effort at his capacity so I try to give him and his family back in Malaysia a tiny help. His kids and wife still benefit from his extra saving right?

QUOTE(abgkik @ Oct 1 2012, 08:02 PM) What you guys think about working at Singapore in between permanent term vs contract term (12 months)? Example: Permanent Salary: SGD 5,000.00 Bonus 2 months House Provided Transport Provided Tax Free Contractual salary: SGD 10,000.00 No Bonus House Provided Transport Provided Tax Free 1 project will last around 16 months. If no new project, need to find another company. Whats holding you back to pick 120k over 70k per year? Given the same benefit, the salary is too far apart For same job scope. Did you forget something? Added on October 1, 2012, 9:34 pmQUOTE(icycokes @ Oct 1 2012, 08:53 PM) Anyone converted their msian driving license recently? I tried to book a basic theory test (BTT) but it seems that the earliest date I can sit for the test is on the next Nov 21. Wondering why need to wait so long... Or is there anyway that I can sit for the test faster? Thanks! Poly, uni holiday. Your waiting time is reasonable. This post has been edited by r1v3r: Oct 1 2012, 09:34 PM

QUOTE(icycokes @ Oct 1 2012, 10:09 PM) Hmm.... Can't they just set up more computers? Seriously 1 and 1/2 months wait is so loooong lar. Btw, anyone heard of EP holders are given 6 months (or 1 year) grace period so that he/she can drive in SG before converting his/her driving license? Yup... Esp after the AT's Ferrari case They did expand the test center. A quick check on one of the newer center revealed you did not pick earlier slot. This time I agree a person have to learn to fish instead of asking for bigger pond with more fish. Use the net. There are 3 test center.

QUOTE(abgkik @ Oct 1 2012, 11:09 PM) it's contract vs permanent.. may no job after 14-16 months.. Base on your age and skill set, what is the odds to find a 5.5k engineering job (factor in 10% increment) in 10 months (the extra 50k should last for 10 months) ?

QUOTE(icycokes @ Oct 2 2012, 12:00 AM) Thanks for the heads up. I remembered I read this somewhere but I couldn't google it. Hah now I know its from SPF website I did look into Bukit Batok DC and SSDC. It appears that SSDC requires 1.5 months wait while I was told BBDC's waiting time is longer than SSBC. Another one is Ubi I guess? I'll look into it later. Thanks! Just saw there was no refund if you cancel your test date. Better verify with them is the rescheduling is FOC. Iirc, we can change our test date twice for free. I took my test at old sdsc amk branch. There was eye sight test and colour blind test too when I submit the application.

QUOTE(vincentwmh @ Nov 7 2012, 01:19 PM) so doc can examine for STD trace on surrounding affected skin. sure need to.. not forgetting the back part also secondly, when you re-examine to renew EP after two years, if STD contracted, then its confirmed "contracted in Geylang, Spore" one I heard those "licensed worker" should have medical cert. It only prove you employed illegal worker while you tour those area.
