i usually change in mustafa center.
is bedok better than mustafa? which part of bedok exactly? may i know the name and location?

CNY eve i just change MYR to SGD (not sgd to myr), the rate was 2.47
*
Mid valley gives the best rate, my brother just changed the other day. SGD to MYR = 2.45, MYR to SGD = 2.46

Deodorant,
Can share which jb money changer give better than sg? I always change at Bedok, which the rate is as good as raffles. But usually I saw in JB, always 0.05 lower than SG. So when change $1k already rm50 difference, can buy extra can of milk powder.

Normally I change at Clifford center (Raffles MRT). Just walk around at the ground floors and look/ask around the few money changers there. Raffles money changer at 10 floor if not mistaken, the rate is lower than the ones on the ground floor but they have remittance service. If you go back often and don't mind about getting robbed laugh.gif , change RM in cash in SG and bank in when you get back to Malaysia.

You can search the earlier threads on some good exchange rates shops which most of the forumers goes to.

I also saw a big money changer with remittance service in Chinatown (People park - green building) but haven't use them before (or if their rates is good). I see the counters manned by PRC so I guess they cater mostly for the China market.

@zhuge, going jb on monthly basis. Always go maybank citysquare quick2 deposit. Going to raffles is a bit tedious as I stay in Bedok.

@ilinez, I can't remember the name, but it is across mcd near bedok interchange. There are few other around but this one usually give the best n can nego a bit sometimes.

@Lester, wow midvalley spread is very small!

hi all. just got the letter of offer. it states annual salary, including AWS. This would lower the monthly salary. If I divide by 12 mths, then it would meet my expected salary. Shouldn't the AWS not be included in the annual salary? Thinking of calling HR to enquire about this.
Also no encashment of em'er portion of CPF... Hmmm...

They already told you the total annual package. Can't get much clearer than that.

Whether you take that annual amount and divide by 12 or 13 is inconsequential.

What you want to do is negotiate. Go back to them with the expected annual package you want. That would be crystal clear for everyone. But if you want to minimise your CPF contribution and maximise cash in hand, you'd want to have maximum Jan-Dec salary and zero AWS. But you lose the employer contribution as well.

i think less than 10% of people here got their Employer cpf portion. if you expect them to pay you that,
Then you can slowly find your job. Why would a company pay you the employer cpf and at the same time they need to pay your foreign worker levy to the gov.

Hi All,

Jus wondering is anyone here familiar/heard of Straits Construction Singapore Pte Ltd? Wanted to know about the company working life such as environment, cultures, politics, etc. Been looking into Banking/Financial industry in SG but still yet to see any good offer.

Thanks.

*Edit* Btw, since not I am not familiar with SG market, how much is average salary for people with 2 years working experience? (I know I dont have much experience, just want to understand the market).

Good day!

I am a M'sian in my early 30s, with a 3 years working experience in IT Helpdesk environment and a few more years in other non-IT jobs. Education-wise, I've got a lowly IT degree. What are my chances of landing a decently-paid job in IT Helpdesk / IT Tech Support field in S'pore? And what are the salary range that I should expect?

Just want to check first so that I know what to put as expected salary before I start my job hunt.

Thank you in advance!
