hi,

i been calling and checking recently, as EP holder i cant drive down.  So i was left with option to ask someone to drive me down or employ a taxi service.

I can get a cab to johor and not further.  Anyone have any experience taking a cab in kotaraya shopping mall?  What is the charges like? Will they ok to ferry me over if they see me coming with 3-4 boxes of home items?
*
The taxi service to Sg from JB is at the old bus stand about 100m from Kota Raya right ? Not too sure about the charges but they will carry all your boxes for sure if the boot can fit.

'Private car' service is at Kota Raya. Normally is SGD$10-$15 per person (drop off anywhere in Sg), iirc. Car will not move off unless got 4 ppl. I guess the boot will be share by 4 ppl. If you want the whole car by yourself then it'll be 4 X (SGD$10-$15).

Which part of Sg you gonna go anyway ?

@mules

If you only have only 3-4 boxes of household items, then is it worth the effort & money to bring them over? Buying all this te ling ta lang stuff is also quite cheap in Sg if yiu go to the hypermarts or hdb shops.

But if they are worth it, can consider DHL jumbo box. Cheaper than taxi here, taxi there and it's door to door.

If you must do car transport door to door, then you're stuck with hired cars/limo service.

Mules,

A taxi from kotaraya to sg (rochor) is rm60/car. U can take the whole car n change to sg taxi at rochor. Last time the taxi uncle told if wanna go to my place add rm40 but ask them first can or not go to your hdb. Else change at rochor.

How big the box? If like those DELL CPU boxes, you might want to keep a list, then go custom sg red lane to declare. If just like those A4 paper box can try green. But if not sure always take red lane smile.gif just make sure no prohibited item.

Taxi always take u in no worry.

I am 29 this year, diploma and worked 8 years in KL with experience in E&E Sales & Marketing。

I work with MNC before for quite some time, looking for something similar, Engineering Sales and marketing, not mind travelling oversea or go regional.

Where should i start finding? How much pay should i ask? I am taking around MYR4k, looking for something SGD3k or above...reasonable?

Do I need a car in Spore for sales and marketing job?

Honestly quite difficult. People in SG tend to place alot of importance on paper qualification for reasons only known to themselves. But money aside no harm trying to apply from msia and see how it goes.

there are also field/site job or mixture of field/site + desk combination.

a friend with an engineering degree has been at sg for a few years which the company provides him an altis + transport allowances as sales service engineer.

for your case is a bit tough.

Bring SGD to JB, change money there, bank in RM to your local bank. Best rate but most troublesome.
A close alternate is to use remittance service like raffles money changer

Deodorant,
Can share which jb money changer give better than sg? I always change at Bedok, which the rate is as good as raffles. But usually I saw in JB, always 0.05 lower than SG. So when change $1k already rm50 difference, can buy extra can of milk powder.
