hi hi, can advice me ah?

le me want to move in de, driving a car load of items for my rental HDB.  if the car never goes in singapore before, i can have a 10 days free pass rite? I have an EP pass and wife with dependant pass.  So can i still use the 10 days free pass?

any documents i need else then passport? tq tq
*
nothing to advise actually. You staying in HDB, means you have an residential address in SG. Work permit holder with residential address in Sg are NOT ALLOW to drive foreign registered vehicle in Sg.

U sounds bias to UK degree and private uni?... To be frank to tell you... Private uni also quite difficut to get 1st class honour! Local uni are much more easy to get 1st class honours! As many courses from local uni also got a few dozens of 1st class honours comes out (That's very horrible! Do you think ppl dont suspect their uni to giving 1st class like selling vege in pasar?)!... He is study hotel management and his course is more to case studies!... D UK degree hold international business management cert!....

NUS is vert reputable uni in sg! Those graduated from NUS are easy to get a jon in sg and their employers dont care of what majot they studied! Coz they recognize those NUS graduated are top student and capable!... I heard my fren said sg gals like to marry and become house wife!... Actually, working in sg is very stressful in corporate world! that's why more gals likw to become housewife to do their own/ family biz!...

Actually, Master got structure A (100% Research based), B (Coursework+ research) and C (Totally coursework - Which known is vr useless master in academic field that can't further PhD after graduated!)... Phd also got Strcture A and B which is more similar to master!...
*
nope, not bias.. just stating facts.. errr, depending on which private uni.. i nvr mention local unis r good... lol, a lot of post grads are towards case study too...

nope, not all grad from nus are good... probably the top 50% will do well, d rest so so only.. well, hard to say in general.. but i think most sg gals like to have their own career..

lol... full course work master doesnt mean it is useless, it means it doesnt require research (not all mbas require research)... phd are for research in science field... there're a lot of business studies that are not that, hence for higher than master they have dba

But there is a label/board right before entering autogate stated... "singaporean/PR"... Yesterday I went to JB and tried autogate but it seems not working (means the machine rejected the passport reading and it's not about the issue of finger printing). When I passed manual gate, I asked the officer.. they said need to get access card. So, I checked to the official website and this morning I went to ICA Lavender for eIACS, the officer told me that I can just pass through autogate using passport. My EP was issued since Jan13.

Anyway, just scan the first page of M'sia passport without cover?
*
yea, scan the profile page without cover, or with cover but can enter d slot... u sure u enter it on the right direction? profile page face down not up

QUOTE(yhoong12 @ Feb 4 2013, 12:25 PM)
That mean EP holder noneed to apply for anything but just go to the autogate and scan the passport page with pic?
*
yes, but of course only if ur passport is registered properly

QUOTE(caihong @ Feb 4 2013, 01:20 PM)
Just scan the first page of Msia passport (the page with picture and face down?). Take off the cover right?
Which exit? Tuas or woodlands or airport?

I tried airport 18th Friday... rejected.
Tried yesterday @ woodlands also rejected.
So weird.
Issuance of EP on 2 Jan, collection on 8 Jan, by right should be ok...
*
scan profile page face down... try again?

bunny talking nonsense. the only "1st year" is that Work Pass holder allowed to drive in SG on foreign license for 1 year. After that must drive using SG licencse.

From this one comment... we can confirm your friend doesn't know any Singaporean girls.
*
Singaporeans girls are very good at project financing with the "project" being their husband/bf and "financing" being their husband/bf salary.
They will ringfence their project cashflow until just enough of it remains for their husband/bf to spend daily.
The rest goes to them.

Is the one you are using. You can either use access card (if you apply for one) or the passport.

Anyway, the autogate for the local and PR, can be used by the normal access card or passport. It is just dedicated for the local & PR, but who cares?

There is a card slot below the passport scan area on the machine. Check it out.

Did he change the passport after the initial MOM registration ? Last time I could use my old passport but after I changed to a new passport (old one expired), cannot use autogate. The SG officer told me to go register the new passport number with some agency which I forgotten (not sure if direct to Immigration office as MOM have my latest passport number as after I changed passport and informed HR, they key in online). Just ask your friend to ask the officer where and how to enable the autogate process. I didn't bother with the re-registration but I can use the autogate now.

Normally the MOM data will snyc with immigration after a few weeks. Ask your friend to try after a couple of weeks / months smile.gif
*
Dont think my friend did anything to his passport after the EP application.
hmm...so basically what you mean is if you register for autogate with your old passport, once you change to new passport then you cannot go thru the gate? hmm.gif

Simple rule... RESIDENTS of Singapore cannot drive foreign cars in Singapore. If you live on the island, cannot.

Traffic Police : your licence.
http://driving-in-singapore.spf.gov.sg/ser..._conversion.htm

LTA: your car and the road (toll etc)
http://www.lta.gov.sg/content/ltaweb/en/ro...otorcycles.html

To drive a Malaysian Car in SG, you need to fulfill the both set of rules form TP and LTA.

Just ask your Malaysian friend or Family member who can drive to come along. After JB custom you be the co-dirver giving direction while the other person drive.

Else need to pay for mover.

At custom, once they scan your passport number the system will indicate your status (PR, EP, WP or others) and your registered address.

For PR, you have to report at the nearest police post when you move to new places. They will update the system and paste the new address on your IC.
