QUOTE(unequalteck @ Mar 4 2013, 09:19 PM) A30 vs D1010-IV A30 is an "upgraded" S3W SE and the D1010-IV is a smaller scale D1080-IV. They are very different. You can audition them at Heavy Arm to find out more about them. Words cannot really describe soundwhat is the difference except pricing? wanna get a 2.0 speaker, wanna get rid of big subwoofer |

Auditioned the M50 and first impression is that it is significantly better than those typical desktop 2.1 systems out there. But SQ wise, is still far apart compared to the likes of T200B / M200MKIII / H5 (The ones that I got to audition).
T200B is really very detailed but will not be for those with size constraints. As for M200MKIII, although separation is very good, it is not to my liking as I find it a tad too airy. As for H5, soundstaging is not as wide as T200B. Listening to it also isn't very fatiguing. If the majority of usage of the sound system is towards music, I would say T200B is the one to go for. But if there is a mix in terms of usage (i.e. 33% gaming, 33% music, 33% movies), I would say H5 + H10 is a better choice (Came across H4 reviews and it seems the SQ of H4 compared to H5 is definitely different with H4 performing better in the highs). Where did you audition the H5? It's under our impression that we did not allocate demo to any dealers.
Now, you can audition this soon: ![]() Full range restocked at Heavy Arm ![]() X6 has also arrived but will only be exclusively available for audition at our own showroom, opening April at Setia Walk Puchong. Appointment required for audition. The X3 is ridiculously...good... |

My first impression on m200mk II
A) 2m away from speaker, various genre, middle volume, awesome. B) 60cm from speaker(nearfield), accapella, middle volume, awesome C) 60cm away from speaker(nearfield), pop and rock, i)middle volume, too loud, bad separation, cant hear vocal ,just noise (no music) ii)low volume, good separation, crisp vocal, but no as enjoyable as 2m away...like using my old 2.1... cyntrix, am i bought a wrong model for my purpose?? im using it with my laptop, no big lcd, so my head tends to near speaker... |

Wait, so you are saying at closer range it doesn't sound as good to you? The reason why you think separation is not as good at nearfield is because of the sheer size of the speaker. It has a very large and overwhelming sound. The M200Mk3 when used nearfield is even more overwhelming which is why we have been stressing not to buy the M200mk3 for nearfield use despite whatever you may read online.
The X series is the king of nearfield. I have the X3 with me now but X4 is the sweet spot. X6 is too huge, never gotten a chance to listen to it yet. Just a friendly advice, all the X series will see a price hike very soon. This post has been edited by CyntrixTech: Mar 16 2013, 08:14 PM |

![]() After spending quite some time ABing the X3 and X4 on my desk, I think I've come to the conclusion that the X3 and X4's main differences are the sheer volume and bass. As usual, you pay double the price for double the output with HiVi (like the m200mk2 vs m200mk3). X4 accepts balanced input whereas the X3 is just stereo. They share the same 1" tweeter. The X4 is very slightly brighter than the X3 even with both HF set to -1. The X3, being less than half the size of an M200mk2, delivers as much bass as the M200mk2, if not a little more. It's also more transparent than the m200mk2. Buy the X3 if you want a small foot print speaker that delivery ridiculously big sound that does not even make much sense. Buy the X4 if you intend to use the speaker more than 6 ft away or if you just want a heck lot of bass coming out of a 2.0 speaker. (alternative is the m200mk3, but the presentation is different). I have not listened to the X6 but I asked HiVi once and they simply replied the X6 is a very POWERFUL speaker...I think you can use this in a 20ft long living room without problem. |

No. The D1010-IV competes with the A3. The D1080-IV competes with the A5 (in terms of size). We will setup an X3 at Heavy Arm some time next week. The new rack is currently full and loaded with all the popular models.

Just got m50w from heavy arms today. Friendly bunch of guys and free "guli" carry the speaker to the car
First thoughts on the newly open m50w, bass sound very boomy like a boom box. Not as punchy as the one tested in heavy arms. Question : 1) does it need burn in time? any difference to the bass? And how long to burn in with which music? 2) which level to set the bass at? currently at minimal level, wanna set it higher but bass doesnt sound that good. |
