It's not supposed to sound boomy. If you have it near a corner of the wall, move it away. You may need to reposition it until you get the right sound

Wait, so you are saying at closer range it doesn't sound as good to you? The reason why you think separation is not as good at nearfield is because of the sheer size of the speaker. It has a very large and overwhelming sound. The M200Mk3 when used nearfield is even more overwhelming which is why we have been stressing not to buy the M200mk3 for nearfield use despite whatever you may read online.

The X series is the king of nearfield. I have the X3 with me now but X4 is the sweet spot. X6 is too huge, never gotten a chance to listen to it yet.

Just a friendly advice, all the X series will see a price hike very soon.

for distance between speaker is around 1 to 1.3 meter but i don have a measuring tape i am just guessing. at nearfield it depends on how you define high volume. normally the volume knob i set to 9 or 10 oclock at nearfield.
but for my speaker listening at a further distance is still sound that little bit better than nearfield

If your M200MK2 nearfield is too boomy, that means there's too much reflection from the rear wall. You can dampen the rear with sound absorbing panels, or simply stuff the port with some polyfill. This is why we kept recommending people NOT to buy the M200MK3 for nearfield as the bass would be crazy.

This is my desktop space and the speakers are approx 3 ft apart is it suitable for the m200mkii?

if can tell me the optimal distance I should have in Feet so i can measure xD and maybe rearrange my space later on.

if i want put it on the shelf like my current speakers also can right?

Just curious, for the M200 Mark II need to get an amplifier for it or just connect it to PC and can work liao?

One more thing, what's the minimum DAC requirement to drive that speaker nicely...in terms of price tongue.gif

p/s: What does it mean by "M200Mk2 - RM 729 (Pair, Active Crossover)" ? Meaning RM729 for 2 speakers or I have to pay RM729X2? tongue.gif

if you want to put also can but is totally a bad idea to do that the speaker is way over your head it can be said as a total wrong placement. beside your shelf have those divider which is very bad to put a speaker in it is like puting your speaker in a cave.

no the m200II don need any amp it already has a build in amp. a dac is just a converter it does not drive the speaker therefore any dac will do, is just that if you want a better sound get a better dac in terms of price is your choice and the speaker is rm729 per pair i belive

i own mkii ...action movie and game is awkward...try m50w is wan mix usage but nt so musical as m200mkii...plus ur set up more suitable for 2.1 configuration due to space constrained

So should I get the m50w or place the m200mkii on my table instead?

I have an extra m3400 sub laying about would I be able to use it to fill in the lack of bass if there was any?

Why is it awkward for game and movie?
