CyntrixTech, you are just distributor right ? what if The swan speaker fail after end of warranty ? I could replace them with a new set if they cost under Rm200~300. But if I spend 2~3k and they dies after 1 year, and there is nowhere support to repair it, I couldnt bear the cost and spend another 2~3 for new set of speaker. For these premium speakers, does it comes with repair support ?

Yup. We can replace any faulty parts after the warranty period is over. You can also gut out the electronics and use the speakers passively too smile.gif

This is my 1st time getting my own set of speakers and I've already ordered Swans X4! That's a high jump. rclxub.gif

Currently no stock for X4 so I had to make backorder and wait until mid of January. wink.gif

For now I don't own any dac or amp. Will only connects to onboard card. Planning to get one dedicated DAC. Can anyone suggest me a good DAC that will pair well w/ the X4? Doesnt matter portable or desktop DAC. My budget is around RM2k.

Thanks thumbup.gif

Where did you test them?

RM2k is a bit too high for the specm but really need to hear it first hand. Smaller drivers should be good for vocal but the bass would be too limited, wouldnt it? Even with a 5.5" from my S2000 is quite boring at times.

That's normal of an initial impression. We didn't even want to bring it in at the first place. After we heard it, RM 2k is still very cheap for this speaker and we'd be bringing a ton in during January.

Please note that HiVi Speakers can also be ordered through Alex if you do not wish to audition it or is nearer to him

around 500-1000? Prefer clarity and details, listen to pop songs and instrumental.

Swan/HiVi M200 Mk2 and Mk3
user posted image
Today we cracked opened the M200mk2. We've listened to the M200mk3 for some time in a living room now. It's the first time that we move both M200mk2 and M200mk3 into my home office. These speakers are intended for nearfield, they are HUGE.

Here's the speaker beside a Dell U3011 (30")

First I listened to the M200Mk2 through my Lavry DA11 via Wasapi output. It's ridiculously good. Not as detailed as the X4 but for the price of RM 729, you really can't complaint a single thing. It's more musical than the D1080-IV without much mid range coloration. Bass is more than adequate on a desktop/nearfield. Highs are excellent, the speakers come with silk dome tweeter. FYI, the M200mk2 is half the power delivery of the mk3, so you might need to crank the volume up quite a bit more as compared to the mk3. But it's not insufficient. The mk3 is made to fulfill a much larger room. The mk2 was never ever discontinued and mk3 isn't a "replacement" for the mk3.

The M200mk3 was placed further apart and farther away from the wall. Supposedly this will reduce the bass quite a bit since the rear port is quite far away from the rear wall. However, one immediate thing that you'd notice is that there's less cabinet sound and it's more transparent than the mk2. The bass is not exactly more than the mk2 at this distance and volume but if you place it in the living room, it would be apparent. At RM 1299, it's RM 570 more than the mk2. It's like getting an iPhone4s vs an iPhone5 (at this time of the post). So it's really up to you to decide whether the differences are worth it. If you want the best and most refined M200 ever, there's nothing but the mk3.

The speakers will continue to deliver the "why so cheap" impression to all listeners.

SPEAKER WILL BE AVAILABLE AT HEAVY ARM FOR AUDITION AND PURCHASE. You may also Purchase from Wellcom PC, and Alex05187 on LYN.

Last time i heard audioengine a5 i was really impressed, will m200mk3 give better or on par sound quality?

Both will be available at Heavy Arm for demo later this week. Listen to them and decide for yourself.
