This is my 1st time getting my own set of speakers and I've already ordered Swans X4! That's a high jump.
Currently no stock for X4 so I had to make backorder and wait until mid of January.
For now I don't own any dac or amp. Will only connects to onboard card. Planning to get one dedicated DAC. Can anyone suggest me a good DAC that will pair well w/ the X4? Doesnt matter portable or desktop DAC. My budget is around RM2k.
Thanks

The best DACs for money that you only need to invest once and forget (coming from someone who heard a ton and swapped a ton of gears) - Lavry DA11, Benchmark DAC1 - RM 4-6k.
Otherwise, the RM 140 Stoner Audio UD100 would be fine.
Kindly wait up to the X4...there's absolutely no way you would be disappointed.

Woah thanks a lot for information man and you actually replied at 3 in the morning ! That's dedication right there
I'm really spoilt for choices now that you've put DS1010-IV into the picture. I think I'll wait till the demo unit is set up at heavyarm's store next week to try these speakers out before deciding .
D1010-IV will be there also. PLEASE test the D1010IV and M10 NEARFIELD. As in sitting on the desk as if you were on the desktop. M10's sub should be on the table. If you test these in further range, the rest of the speakers would quickly destroy them. Therefore, you must know your usage and test the speakers in its ideal position. If you put M200MKii and T200B three ft away from the wall in a large room, these will sound completely bassless. They are quite sensitive to positioning

That is way too expensive bro.. Since you've tried a lot of gears, can you recommend me a nice one within my budget? Should range around 2k
H5 + H10 is the safest bet and it is a system that you will leave on running without grabbing too much of your attention. The cabinet size is just right and it's very transparent + neutral.
T200B with H10 is more articulate than the H5 + H10. I don't like it but some customers love it because it is pretty much everything the T200B is plus the lower end being present now. The H10 can be used in small-large room. Driver is extremely well controlled, it's unbelievable for the money. H6 is more appropriate for a smaller room.
We have not auditioned the H4 yet. Suffice to say that it is similar to the H5 but half the output. HiVi has many very similar models but with different power rating for different purposes.
Although the H system shares the same flat port design as the D1080IV, even with LF set to +2 it does not deliver as much bass as the D1080IV. H system is not recommended for medium/large room use without a sub. You are better off getting M200MKiii for that purpose. If sub is added to the equation, H4/H5 + H6/H10 are to die for.

over a week with the m50w n i have to say the bass is besttt. been running it on asus xonar u1. perhaps need a better SC.
been listening to stuff like this
Now go listen to equivalently priced/higher priced multimedia speakers. Go back home and you'd appreciate your M50W even more.
Please pull up Michael Jackson Thriller album. Start from Billie Jean. Tight, punchy, fast. You can go on listening to M50W for hours due to its more mellow sound signature

Hey there, my friend and I went to Heavyarm yesterday to try out the M10. Unfortunately they don't have any white ones left, is there anywhere else where we can find the white ones around KL area?

We just placed an order with HiVi for white ones. There's no stock from HiVi until January. Even so, I'm not sure if we can even get the quantity we wanted. Black ones are available
Actually I was thinking of getting a m50w for my main setup. Will try to move the aktimate mini to the main tv room. How do i connect the m50w to my existing dac? How much is the m50w?
