Let's get a few perspectives right. We are not in crisis but our defense is in crisis after costing us arguably all 4 games. And yes, if this goes on we are relegation candidate even if we play better football. Don't get me wrong. I like the system but our defense is too weak to support the current flow of play. We don't fix our defense we are going to lose more points.

i still remember the 200m price-tag ronaldo doing all sort of tricks on his debut in manchester utd and see where he's now drool.gif ... really hope sterling will not be tempted away from anfield to other bigger clubs who offer big fat contracts... nod.gif

Agreed, watching the match yesterday I have a few positives/negatives I noticed in the play:

1. Johnson and Sterling, arguably our best players yesterday, yet I feel Johnson would better serve as a winger with less defensive responsibilities. Definitely better in my opinion than Downing, but I dunno how he compares to Assaidi or Sahin. Perhaps when Enrique and Kelly are available, play them both with Johnson and Sterling?
2. Reina was a bit shaky again, and some may say he was to blame for the goal.\
3. Suarez going to ground too often is going to cement his bad image even further and probably result in less calls being given for Liverpool rather than against.
4. Possession - we have to start making more important passes. There's no use having so much possession if 2/3 of it is in your defensive 3rd.
5. Lack of a finisher. We all know this. Put in Yesil or Morgan perhaps?
6. Gerrard missing passes - I don't know what to say about this...have Gerrard as a winger and play Sterling inside? Sterling has had success on the wing, but it would be interesting to see him play off the front man.

Agreed. And I also notice that we keep losing the 2nd ball with terrible positioning and slow on rebound. I watched some goals by other teams. They hit the post, their team mate will quickly react and tap in. We don't have that in us.

We lost two of our best players in the decade; Kuyt and Alonso. Their hard works are what is missing in our team right now. Gerrard still looked very lost. Perhaps he's never recovered since Rafa, Alonso and Torres left. It looks like the same cycle all over again. Let's hope the manager stay this time. If things are not going well after a few more games, I suggest recall Rafa and let him co manage with BR. Hey we did it before right?

The positive is, Sterling looks like a young Messi. What a beast play from him.
*
I had to agree on that. Or maybe his way is just too much for others players. I mean they can't click it together.
After Alonso, Torres left, SG just seem really lost. So does the team. Plus manager as well.
Is either to pay high price for some manager or pay some lower price for some manager and hope he can grow the players. So the owner must understand their objective and plan.
Arsenal so far I c is the most well financial managed team. He can win nothing for over the years, but they still in the CL, buy cheaply and sell higher price for their players. They don't worry who will leave, they just come and go with profit and yet the team still can preform well.
We must get our direction right. You either can do as buy buy buy or invest invest invest or groom groom groom. Anyhow I will support the team.
Lost of direction....... KD should be given another season to prove himself. Is too early for him to left. Now we got BR, are we going to giv him one season ? like KD or end up like Roy? For me I prefer for the Jan. Is either 2 season or Jan, you can go for 1 season.

In yesterday game, I can see Suarez reduce the amount of fouls fishing and complaining that he so used to do which I think will do us and himself a favour. Cut those fake acting off and focus on playing football.

New manager, new system, some new players, same old shit.
Dominating games but no results. Only difference is we are getting closer and closer each season to the damned relegation zone. Lol, snafu!

Not the type to moan after just 4 games but 2 out of 12 points is hillarious Two hundred millions pass between defenders and midfield eventhough no pressure from opponents automatically give them chance to regroup and park the bus.

Against a really shite Sunderland team, theres little chances created and didnt converted the one we have. I rather watches KD "failed" tactics or RB "mundane" systems than this kiki lala.. its been awful to watch the team play so far. Lucky there are couple of promising prospects in Sterling, Allen and Shelvey.

Hope BR could sort his team out fast. I wish BR have balls to drop Gerrard for couple of games and try Allen and Sahin pairing.

Though it will not suprise me if we suddenly play like champions against the mancs next.

Suarez was fouled and should have won that penalty. Say what you want about him but he's the only real goal threat and has actually been scoring quite regularly for us. The main concern is Borini and Sterling, can they effectively replace the goals from Kuyt and Maxi. That's the real question.

BR biggest mistake so far was not getting a striker.

We have played two difficult teams in just 4 matches.
I am confident that our results will improve.Starting next week against you know who brows.gif

Based on last season,it's better off to start off badly and finish on a high like arsenal rather than start on a high and finish badly like us.

This season for us is to gel the team and look for the best combination among what we have on a shoe string budget.

Next Season we shall challenge for the Cups.

We might not have won yesterday, but the lads played well and created more chances and as usual, the woodwork deny us a win.

As usual, our defence still sucks and Suarez should change his style sometimes, not running with his head focusing on the ground. Sterling gave a Sterling performance and Borini is getting more Boring and fast becoming a Downing Version2

Its already bad reading some dreadful and really stupid comments in this thread, but to read some mindless freaks banging their keyboards - sometime you would wonder - 'my god, are they watching another game, in another dimension!!' Seriously guys - a notable few, you know who you are - your comments sounded like SCUM, and that you have nothing better to do but troll in this thread....rightly or wrongly, i hope you are not trolls, they are lowest in the food chain. Sometimes, the thing you write, tells a lot about you, your credibility and your understanding of the game. If you are not good enough, dont write - get some tuition or something, but dont write! Its blardy awful reading it! I for one, will take note of those few names who, probably tranverse or time travel a few dimensions, watching different version of Liverpool play a different version of Sunderland - probably high on Ice or whatever party drugs- yes -you, please spare urself some credibility, and spare us some really awful incomprehension, STOP WRITTING

Back to Liverpool, didnt watch the game in full, but we tend to play better away last season, but to have this performance for an away game, i think i take a lot of the positives. Last season, away to Sunderland - our 1st game - correct me if I am wrong - we play awful, and also outplayed, out manouvre and out fought - the same cannot be said this time.

I been saying about Stevie. G's decline, but i tot he played much better yesterday - and please please you guys, if your misconception or expectation of gerard is about lung-busting or door breaking move in the centre and scoring with a thunderbolt all the time - think again - its not saturday everyday...best to bring down your expectation, or even better - erase the part where he score 19 goals season- its been playing at a rewind in your memory and its not healthy in the long run

Let us get behind the team and gaffer at such time.
There is no vocal leader on the pitch right now. Even Gerrard seems 'heavy' last night
