QUOTE(cherroy @ Sep 4 2012, 09:56 PM)
If the team cannot score a goal from open play through "possession football", I do not see why or any harm trying plan B of high ball, and physical.
After all many said PL is more physical than most other league, isn't it?

If manager cannot have all the money to buy whoever players suit to their philosophy of football, then with existing resources available, won't be better to try to utilise what the player can offer aka play at the strength accordingly, until the manager can find the target personnel, only change the way of play?
*
This is my sentiment as well.. There will be a time when a certain play wil not work in a game so need to adjust accordingly. Carroll will give us options. From what I read, the lad didnt want to leave either.

Loaning him out without replacement is reckless...

Man City already use the loophole in FFP regulations.. by inflated the price of selling rights to stadium naming and sponsorship to "other" company. FFP wont work with club that has backing of billionaire.

january still a long way to go and BR has no choice but to use what he have. no choice now.. all the best to him.

Chelsea have been named European Club of the Year in the European Club Association's annual awards.

http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story/_/...r-award?cc=3436
whistling.gif
1. For their outstanding achievement during the 2011-12 season on a European and domestic level - Really?! Lowest domestic finish since takeover.
2. Encouraging best practice and highlighting successful club management - Spending billions inflating the market and trigger happy at firing managers.
3. Reward outstanding club performances - Fair enough despite playing negative football, all that matters is they won.

Personally I would give it to CL semi-finalists Real Madrid for finally dethroning Barcelona in La Liga.
*
Chelsea while only manage to win CL last season but they were the most consistent club in CL for the past 7 seasons or so..

Did we get the award in 2005?

QUOTE(Duke Red @ Sep 12 2012, 04:51 PM)
I know the feeling.

Chief Inspector Duckenfield should be brought to justice. He mismanaged the situation and then tried to absolve himself of any blame by pinning it on the fans, and while the S*N may be forgiven for printing the story they got from a source, they cannot be let off the hook for refusing to apologise until today. Justice needs to be served and for the first time in a long time, it just may. Not a wonder fans are still sore with Souness for giving them an interview.

Kenny was right in the thick of it, and he and several other players and staff attended as many funerals as they could, up to 2-3 a day. We are family.
*
Yeap.. took a toll on Kenny.. which leads to his abrupt resignation. Truly a great man.. finest ever player to don the shirt. Thats why I still bitter towards FSG for what they did to Kenny. Travel half the world just to get fired by them.

At last, closure to the families of the 96.

The police chief and The Sh*trag editor should be prosecuted in court for lies and defamation.

Class act from Alonso. A gentlemen first, great footballer second.

Not the type to moan after just 4 games but 2 out of 12 points is hillarious Two hundred millions pass between defenders and midfield eventhough no pressure from opponents automatically give them chance to regroup and park the bus.

Against a really shite Sunderland team, theres little chances created and didnt converted the one we have. I rather watches KD "failed" tactics or RB "mundane" systems than this kiki lala.. its been awful to watch the team play so far. Lucky there are couple of promising prospects in Sterling, Allen and Shelvey.

Hope BR could sort his team out fast. I wish BR have balls to drop Gerrard for couple of games and try Allen and Sahin pairing.

Though it will not suprise me if we suddenly play like champions against the mancs next.

dropping gerrard for a couple of games is not because he is useless now but to rest him abit. he has been playing too many games and since he is not that young it will take a toll on him. we sign sahin on loan and he supposed to be a hotshot player so i think it should be alright as gerrard cover. we have europa cup so the number of games this season is alot. a refresh gerrard will benefit the team.

same goes to suarez because he got a little rest but since we short on senior striker and creative player up front so we have no choice. at least till January.

The failure of signing replacement for Carrol is looking like a blessing in disguise where we finally get to test our promising youngsters. Dont really know about Yesil but I read a lot of good things about Suso. Hopefully they'll adapt quickly like Sterling did.

But I do feels that youngsters should be ease in team.. not rushed. BR is doing the right thing testing them out in the Europa opener.

just watch the goal highlights.. apart from the dodgy defending I'm impress with the young players.

Shelvey starting to matured now. The 1 million RB paid for him is looking like spare change now.

And what a nicely taken header from Wisdom.

How was the others youngins for those who watched the game?

Suso is a wonder kid based on the people who follows. Need to tied him up long term so if the big 2 team in Spain came calling we can pau them cukup2

Jordan Henderson's compilation from last night's game, thought he was one of the better performers. Clearly much more comfortable playing in the middle. If he goes on like this, it will be hard for BR to ignore.
*
He has been a victim of playing off position on the flank.. he looks more confortable in the middle. Then again that area already crowded

I cant understand why BR swapped Sterling for that idiot, the game went to shit once he came on.

Anyway off to bed, another lousy day thanks to the ref.
*
sterling not really strong defensively. hendo fresh leg could help covering the defense and the same attack. he played ok IMHO.

the ref was really bad.. how the hell evans both legs tackle and jonjo only one leg could get red card?

the team played a good game despite the loss. hopefully we will start our winning streak after this.

btw, i hope the injury is not very bad for both agger and kelly. really suwey this game.

QUOTE(RedSiglap56 @ Sep 23 2012, 11:34 PM)
What do you guys think of the mancs' equalizer? Do we have a goalkeeping issue?

Two seasons ago, Reina was stopping all these kind of shots but these days whenever an opposing player takes such shots, I immediately cringe..
*
not a goalie in the world could save that one.. even yao ming cant even stretch to save that.

QUOTE(led_zep_freak @ Sep 23 2012, 11:55 PM)
Nope, it was a pen. Can't argue on that one.
*
it wasn't.. barely a contact.. he simply dives..

QUOTE(carloz28 @ Sep 24 2012, 12:12 AM)
Ok lemme get this straight...using the word scum get banned while loserpool and liverfools can get away unscathed?

Hmm.......a bit of inconsistency in the patrolling standards eh?
*
THIS! i wonder also.. not insults enough i think

RVP tackle on Suso also dangerous.. how incompetent the ref couldn't see that?

QUOTE(chaukeng @ Sep 24 2012, 12:40 AM)
excuse me, if someone from the other thread posted this 'always the victims' (the chant by man utd fans at the dw stadium which was widely condemned )
Is it harsh enough for me to press the report button?

Looks like he is insulting all liverpool fans and the dead.  hmm.gif

QUOTE(+Newbie+ @ Sep 24 2012, 12:47 AM)
You've got a point with that. Let me discuss with The Whacker, etc and see what the consensus is. To be fair, there're lots of comments criticising that are borderline as well on both sides which have been left untouched. My fear is that if I come in too strong, then there would be no discussion left in the forums. My focus now is on trolling and direct insults as these are not grey areas.
*
you got to draw the line somewhere.. us reds wont ever touch the munich disaster (at least not the grown ups) because it disrespectful.. fell free to ban if any of us do.. so "always the victims" chants should be treat the same too. if acting on that is too strong then i dont know how low of an insults you would consider strong enough.

QUOTE(mkaz @ Sep 24 2012, 12:47 AM)
donno wat hendo did when he came on..
shud've played assaidi instead..

anyway ref ruined the game..
hoping to see the team improved more...
YNWA!!
*
hendo main job is to help the defense.. he done well IMHO.
